    Default I've been told different

    Hey Guys

I'm a little confused. People in the chat said that i should have a period before starting clomid. But doctor said yesterday i'll take bloods and you should be able to start tomorrow. I rang up the doctor and he gave me the all clear to start clomid. Does this sound silly?

    I'm just a little worried.

    Smile Hi!

    Hey Carrie

I would trust in what your doc says cos obviously he has decided that your levels are still low enough to use the clomid and bring on ovulation.

Also, if this makes you feel any more secure, when i started my IVF cycle earlier in the year i did it without having a period! So just cos it is the norm to have a period and then start stimming drugs doesnt mean it has to happen all the time. After all i am now 9wks preg with my March ivf cycle.

    Hi Carrie

Just wanted to reassure you that you are not the only one who has started Clomid without having AF.

I was on CD130 when I started my 5 days on Clomid for the 3rd time that cycle, and I ovulated on that go. I had taken it for the first time at the very beginning of December last year, then when progesterone supplements didn't work to bring on AF, the dr put me on another round of Clomid. I didn't ovulate with that round of Clomid so was to wait again, but I went to a different doctor who after taking bloods to make sure I wasn't pregnant put me on the Clomid again. I have since had AF, and am now waiting till Monday for another bloodtest to see if I have or about to ovulate.

I take it your dr is sending you for another bloodtest in a few days time to see what your levels are?

Let me know how you go!

    hugs

Default You asked a question Mandi?

I'm going to get a blood test on day 21 to check if i ovulated. I guess it's all a waiting game from here on. I have a feeling that even if i do ovulate i wont get pregnant this month my fiance might have to go back home to Germany because his grandfather past away yesterday afternoon.

In the last day i've started freaking out that maybe i can't have kids or something.

    anyway

    Hi Carrie

Even if you don't get pregnant this month it will be interesting to see if you have ovulated from the Clomid. If it you have that is such a good thing! I am sorry about your Fiance's Grandfather, but if he does have to go away, he is going to need you to be strong for him. There are always other cycles to work on getting pregnant!

I completely understand about what you said that you have fears that you may never have children. I have them too! Especially after ovulating last cycle and having an artificial insemination done (with my DF's sperm) and not getting pregnant. I had really good hormone levels, and his sperm count was really good too, but it still didn't work. I freaked out for a few days thinking 'what if something else is wrong?' But after reading a few posts here I felt better in the knowledge that it doesn't always work the first time even if everything seems to be in pretty good shape to start with.

Please remember anytime you are feeling down, just start a thread and you will get support!

    Hugs
    Mandi
