Im new to the page and i was wondering if any of you guys have a non-existent libido?
I have had pcos since i was 16 and will be 27 soon. I have no desire at all to have sex.. i mean it could be weeks... This isn't right for a 27 year old... I was on BC for about 8 years and thought maybe that was why, but Ive been off over 2 and it still hasent come back, or come for that matter...
I'm jealous of the women who rave bout their love lifes and sometimes feel like maybe im just " broken" and maybe sex is overrated. I have had what i thought was amazing sex before... but i dont think about it even curled up next to my beau. The poor thing, i feel sorry for him =) my androgen levels are double what they should be... can anyone chime in? is this just me or does pcos contribute to it? I want a libido =(
This happened to me 2! When I was in college & younger my (sex) hormones were raging. Once PCOS started causing me pelvic pain & I had a wedge resection I had no drive whatsoever. I thot sumthn was wrong w/ me 2!!!! It was probly not until abt a yr after I had healed & had PT for the pain did I desire sex again. (I also watched adult movies 2 try to help).
Part of it was mental, as far as the pain & being afraid sumthn mite get bumped 2 hard or happen during sex that wud cause more pain/prblms. But there was also something physically diff. I attributed it 2 my ovaries. I just cud not get turned on even during sex. It got better over time, but I wish I had that physically strong sex drive (kind of like a teenage boy) like I used to.
BTW...I'm 26 & my hormone levels were extremely off too.

The only thing I've found that helps is that the more in shape I get, the more I enjoy the actual act. Which still isn't anything like it is in the movies, but the fitter I get, the more palatable the idea of sex is.
I bounce between not being interested at all and being some sort of nympho. My poor hubby never knows what to expect. It drives me insane. I would just like a normal sex life. Either I'm not interested and so my poor hubby is deprived and I feel guilty or I'm all nymphed out and the poor boy can't keep up and I feel deprived and he feels guilty.

My DH has been asking me if I'm "seeing someone else". As a joke of course! ya know, cause my libido went bye bye. It comes and goes, but I'm having a hard time dealing with the thought of not having a child (before I really knew what was wrong) and DOING IT was kind of like a punishment, a slap in the face. I tried to explain that but he didn't get it. Poor guy, it must be pretty confusing to him. That, and sometimes it just doesn't seem appealing. <--- that's me talking to my DH. LOL

for several years i had no libido at all, then my hormones flipped again and now i have a fairly large one. it happened on it's own, i don't recall doing anything differently. back then i had body sweats, was hot all the time
now i'm cold sensitive, hairier and can turn just about anything into a dirty thought
i have no idea what switched things up

That happened to me at one point, but since I started taking metformin its coming back... I also slipped into a depression which I know can cause a decrease in sex drive...
I'm not sure what exactly changed for me... I just know that suddenly its fun again... lol
I love this message board!! It's like I'm looking in the mirror!! My libido comes and goes.. I feel so sorry for my poor DH... He did not sign up for this mess.
I thought it was just me I am on metformin 1500mg but that has not brought back any sparks for me. It is very upsetting for me because I dont understand why its like this and i heard it might be the bcps. I dont know its so crazy it makes me wanna cry my husband is very understanding but its not easy for me to deal with

EVERYONE SHUT UP! LOL! I am the same way. I thought I was crazy or that something was wrong but now I'm looking at all of these others with the same problems and I don't feel so distant/off track anymore!
It's weird being 25 and sometimes I want it and others I'm NOT turned on AT ALL. Then again, maybe it's just him! LOL!

Well, I'm 43 and have absolutely no libido and have not had one in YEARS!!!!! I've been married almost 20 years and dated my DH for almost 4 years before we married. In the beginning of our marriage I had a libido - not huge, but I did have a sex drive. Now, it's nonexistent. I'm on 2000mg Fortamet a day and have seen no increase. I have dealt with depression, but there was no sex drive before that anyway.
It's really driven a wedge in our marriage that I don't know can be fixed. My husband was understand at first, but now it's really old for him and he can't take it much longer I'm afraid.
I went with out a libido for about 4 years, when i had no period and my testosterone went up. I started metaformin back in 2001 and eventually it came back..Good luck.
