I Wonder if there is any hope for me
i am 22 married to my high school sweetheart. We have been togeather for 5 years married for 1 year! I was told i had PCOS about 2 months ago. i so badly want to have a baby but the doctors are not helping me at all. i am at wits end adoption is going to be hard for me since my husband is in the airforce.. i just dont knwo what to do.....has anyone else had dosterd stomp on there hopes of haveing a baby?
Sounds like you need a new doctor. My doctor told me that I CAN get pregnant and he will do ALL in his power to help me get that way! If you are ready, find yourself an RE and see what the situation may entail....just my advice! I started TTC in November 2003, and I waited forever before I decided to figure out why I wasn't getting pregnant. I went to the doc and they said I hadn't ovulated for at least 2 years. Please...for your own sake...find a great doc and go!

Aww that sucks - if the doctors aren't helping you, they're not doing a very good job! There are usually ways to at least work towards getting PCOS more under control. Have you thought about looking for another doctor? Have they actually stomped out your hopes completely or said there's a chance?
I'm 22 as well, I'm not trying for a baby, but I've been on this forum for a wee while now and it looks like there's a lot of medications etc. that can be looked into for hormonal imbalances etc.

Medication: Estelle (BCP), Vit. B, Spiro
Symptoms: High cholesterol, Hirsutism, Cysts, Weight probs
Height: 167 cm
Exercise: 40-60 mins a day 4-6 days a week
Start Weight (March 06): 187 pounds/85 kgs
Current Weight: 165 pounds/75 kgs
Weight Goal: 154 pounds/70kg
(143 pounds/65kg if I'm lucky :p )

Dont let the doctors tell you that you can't. If they havent tried anything then they don't know for sure that you can't. Find a different doctor, make sure that the doctor knows that you know alot about PCOS and that you are willing to do what needs to be done to get better and get pregnant. I have been dealing with the same thing for over 10 years and finally got a dx and was perscribed metformin yesterday. Sometimes what it takes is to be knowledgeable about what is wrong with you and know what the treatments are. Good luck in your journey and lots of baby dust comming your way.

Please see another doctor I recently started ttc and my RE told me with the right combination of "drugs" and other things he has helped many girls conceive with PCOS...there is always hope... please don't get discouraged you are still young to think that your hopes of having a child have been stomped out.....
