This probably sounds like a stupid question....
I was diagnosed with PCOS in 1998 after my periods never returned after having my second son. I struggled with my weight for years, only having two periods a year, but finally got the weight off over last few years.
Recently I went and had my tests redone and all my hormone levels were within normal ranges including blood sugar and testosterone. I have been having regular periods (32day cycles) for two years now and I have been ovulating for about 12 months based on maybe baby ferning results and ovulation pain/symptoms
I had an ultrasound yesterday that showed I am definitely producing dominant follicles, though my ovaries still look classically PCO
My question is now that my symptoms are gone am I now just PCO rather than PCOS??
I have an appt with my specialist in a few weeks and will confirm it with him I guess....
hmmm maybe cured is not the right word....maybe remission is a better sort of explaination because I guess if I gain weight again and eat wrong the syndrome could come back.
Thanks so much in advance

Many ladies have found they go into remission at times. My symptoms go in cycles, but never completely go away. I think there are cases of a certain med causing PCOS symptoms. When the med is stopped, the symptoms dissappear. Check here:
I have been told that "there is NO cure for PCOS." Since a cure supposedly doesn't exist, than nobody could be "cured". And that ladies who no longer have PCOS symptoms are refered to as "being in remission".
I am still overweight, but no longer have "active" PCOS symptoms. I have AF every 27-29 days, and I feel ovulation symptoms around CD14. No longer feel those sugar lows that are common with IR. The black facial hairs are turning blond again.
I think that I have discovered the cause of pcos, and have taken care of that cause, and it is no longer a problem. I personally believe that I have been cured. But I am not allowed to say that I have been cured. I am only allowed to say that my PCOS is in remission.
My PCOS could come back if I allow the cause of the PCOS to come back. But I don't think that I will let that happen, so my PCOS is gone for good.
