Talking if it wasn't for the hair...

first let me start by saying this is the best place ive ever seen when it comes to pcos and women that battle this invisible monster daily...

the most irritating symptom of coarse is the facial hair...i can grow a beard faster and thicker than my bf...(although i have to admit he has never complained onced)....I have to shave daily...creams just dont seem to cut it....

i am 10 days pre-op for a hysterectomy due to severe dysplasia...and i was wondering if anyone knew if the symptoms slow down or stop....or some relief from the pcos ....after the ovaries are removed?

God Bless you all and know for a fact, as now i do, that you are not alone...

Hi Talina,

I know exactly what you mean. At this point in time I don't really care if I die of this disease as long as they cremate me as a hairless individual.

I shouldn't really moan too much because yesterday I went for Aculight to get rid of it and am glad that I dont have to shave and I can pay someone else to get rid of the dammed stuff.

I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. I have suffered for 16 years with this and dont stand near people cos im so conscious of it. I know that its going to come back each time but thankfully its less unless I dont do anything about it.

So yeeesssss, I have great sympathy and empathy for us all.

Leyna

From all that I have read, if I were you, I would keep my ovaries. PCOS is an endocrine disorder. Excess androgens can come from the adrenal gland as well as the ovaries. High insulin is the major cause of excess androgens and removing ovaries will not help that one bit.
