I finished 3 treatments of 5 of laser hair removal on my chin and cheeks. After a year, it started to grow (and recently after expereimenting with Vitex, it grew back in full force!! grrr).
If your hair grew back, did you have laser again?
Second time around where the results better? Longer term?
I'm thinking its because I didn't finish all the treatments and I temporarily messed up my hormones.
Experiences?

I had a full set of 5 laser treatments in 2004, and I went back for a "tune-up" last year. I will go back for another this year. There are lots of follicles, and the screwy hormones of PCOS will activate them, just not necessarily all at the same time, so different hairs come out as time goes on.
I have the most trouble with the mustache area, as those hairs are more resistant to the laser, for me. The chin/neck hairs are very responsive, thank goodness.
Thanks Emerald. Guess it was me not going long enough and the chin and cheek area had been previously plucked, waxed, and elctro'd for years. Had my sideburns done was well and very very few hairs grew back there.
Will try again! Ta.

I am doing electrolysis on my chin, because everyone was telling me laser didn't take, so I began to poll people who had successful laser vs. unsuccessful laser treatments, and the people who were unsuccessful had only had 3-5 sessions, the people who were successful had about 8 treatments. I know for electrolysis, it's going to take me between 6 months to a year to be successfully done, especially since I had been plucking the area which makes everything worse, so if you have been waxing or plucking the area in question, you probably needed more sessions. I'd call up the person you'd been seeing and ask them what you can do at this point and see if you can just pick up where you left off and get 2-3 more treatments. You could also do electrolysis, which takes longer, but I am currently only paying $20 a session a week, and after 3 months, I will only see her once a month. Also, I don't have a large amount of hair, I have about ten hairs around my neck/chin area on the left, and maybe 25 on the right, which is another reason why I opted for electrolysis.
Thanks cec. I did electro for well over a year and it was barely noticable that I had it done. Plus, I now have some scars under my chin from it. I wouldn't do electrolysis again anywhere.

That's too bad, hope you are able to continue the laser treatments and find some success!!!! Hair stinks!!!! Good luck
The laser place where I go said they wouldn't guarantee permanent hair reduction unless I had 5 treatments. They also will give me free touchups forever! I've only had one treatment, but the results are great on the dark hair. It seems that about 70% of my dark hair is gone. That doesn't mean it won't grow back or other hair turn dark. I think Met and losing a little weight has helped my testosterone, but I haven't had that tested recently.

I've had six laser treatments so far, and I still have to go back for more treatments. It's not that the laser is not working, just that more hair keeps popping out after other hair is gone. So if it was me, I'd probably go back and get a few more treatments. Good luck!
did it on my arm pits -- came back .. not as much as it used to be, but its back! That reminds me that I need to call the place and see what they will do....thanks for reminding me!

I had it on my "happy trail" I had six courses its grown back within five years FAR worse than before ... I agree with whoever said that you MUST get your hormones under control either with Dianette or with other medication ...
my case study is this .. my identical twin sister has the same condition as bad as me we both went on the pill ... we both had the lazer treatment ... I had to come off teh pill because of high blood pressure .. by body hair etc is ten times worse and hers has never come back in ...........
because I cannot go on the pill I am now trying an alternative
