If you have some success with the Yasmin What does having some success with the Yasmin mean? Will taking Spiro actually reverse the effects of hair loss if you've been successful with Yasmin? I don't understand what type of hair loss I am experiencing since a lot of factors have come into play at PRECISELY the right time for my hair loss when I had some EXTREME lifestyle changes (i.e. heavy stress, undereating). I kid you not when I emphasize extreme.
I've always had PCOS symptoms with the acne and excess hair, but I've never experienced hair loss. I am at the beginning stages because I don't have balding areas yet. But as MPB is associated with PCOS sufferers, I am informed that you have to see balding areas in specific parts like the crown and temple in order to associate balding with PCOS. What if your hair loss is completely diffused and coming from all sorts of places? As far as testing, I am currently underway for endocrinology results that are not in yet. As far as my doctor has been able to tell me, I have high testosterone and elevated cortisol (stress hormone). I am taking Yasmin OC which somewhat reduced shedding, although it is increasing again. I will have to redo my cortisol test a third time due to the fact my doctor feels that my blood draws for cortisol could have been affected by my OC. I am now underway for the 24 hr urine collection. I am not IR nor overweight.
I am still at my beginning stages of alopecia therefore I cannot determine any specific balding areas other than the fact that my hair seems a lot flatter and less dense, but I am not sure if it is thin. I'm really trying hard to remember the thickness of my hair since before my alopecia started I never paid mind to my hair. I really need to know how in the world can you determine whether my alopecia has anything to do with PCOS and MPB or tellogen effluvium, temporary shedding due to high stress and undereating. It's been two or more years since my stressors and undereating began, almost two years since I noticed my hair falling (there was a period at the beginning of this year when my hairloss for some reason stopped for about 2 months and began shedding again non stop to this day) and it has been approx. 7 months since I've been trying to recover my healthy eating habits.
The most important question from all I've written which I wish to be answered is whether having success with the Yasmin mean having success with a good dose of Spiro? I have read all too many unsuccesful stories on the Spiro to which I have not deciphered the reasons for.
*I also have to mention I am an anxiety sufferer since being a kid. It increases as I am in social situations. I sweat heavily and get heart palpitations. Palpitations also seem to happen although I am in a relaxed mode.
