Default If you take 2000 mg, do you take it together?

Do you take it all at once, or do you split it up? Do you take in the morning or evening, with or without food? I was taking it all at once in the morning, but I couldn't handle the side effects. So, now I take 1000 in the morning and 1000 with dinner. I'm just wondering which way it is more "effective" in helping to lose weight. Any thoughts?

I take 1000 mgs in the morning, 1000 at night as well. My pills are 500 mg so I take two in the morning and the same at night. I haven't tried any other way but I have been taking 2000 mg for awhile now and have lost a fair amount of weight (I exercise as well).

I take mine all at night because I simply cannot remember to take it other wise. It's bad enough I forget as it is lately but if I split it I may not be able to remember the next dosage. And I usually take it about an hour after dinner.

I take 2 in the AM after b-fast (which I eat at work) and two at dinner.

I don't think any particular way is more effective - I think it just depends on if you can tollerate taking it all at once or not (or if you can remember to take it twice a day, etc)

I take 1 pill about 2-4 hours after I wake up, about 30 minutes before I eat lunch. I take the second pill about a half hour before dinner.

I just started taking it again after being off it for about 2 1/2 years- before that I had been on it for three years.. The first time I took it I took it right before eating breakfast and before eating dinner. I had constant stomach upset & spent most of the day on the toilet.

This time I take it 1 hr before breakfast (oatmeal so I can tolerate the Metformin) dosage is 1tab 1000mg... and then take the other 1000mg two hours after eating dinner. I have FAR less issues.. only if I push things and eat butter or cheese. I haven't had problems with salads..

Anyone have a suggestion for the BEST way to take the medication?
By the way, I weighed myself on Feb 21 and weighed 214. Weighed myself this morning and I am 203... and on day 14 I got AF. In addition to starting the Metformin I have been low carbing.I never get AF so this fantastic.
