what do you think, I know the only way to find out is to get tested
but do you think I have it?
thanks everyone
Most things point to PCOS being something you are born with. If your sister has PCOS you are likely to have it, but it's not a definite thing. There are 5 types of PCOS, so even if you both have it, you might have different types. I would suggest you get checked for PCOS, diabetes and Insulin Resistance as female relatives of women with PCOS are at a higher risk for diabetes. Men can also have a male version, so if you have brothers they may bald early, have diabetes and high cholesterol.
we can't say at all based on your age, periods, and weight. I was 14 or 15 when I got my first period, I was 5'7" and 115 pounds. But many women first start to notice symptoms when they have weight they can't lose or very irregular and heavy periods. I don't think it's necessary to get tested for PCOS unless you have a reason to - obviously you can't track your periods yet, because they just started. And many teenagers have irregular periods in the beginning, so even the next year or so probably won't be able to tell you much. But if you gain a lot of weight, have excess hair, skin tags, horrible acne, have very heavy or long periods, or start to go very long stretches without them, etc...then you might want to get tested. But you have to keep in mind that some of these things are just part of being a teenager - puberty naturally brings about acne, some weight gain, and more hair.
PCOS likely has a hereditary component, but that does not in any way mean that you are guaranteed to have it just because your sister did. You might, of course, but unless you have reason to be worried, I say: don't!

I am not an only child, I also have a sister. My mother has endometriosis, my sister is fine (no female problems), and me ... I have a mild case of PCOS. I guess you can say we are all over the charts!
I didn't start noticing the irregular periods and things like that till I was about 20 or so. I didn't have "all" the symptoms either. At first docs didn't want to diagnose me because I wasn't overweight. I was the opposite (at that time) ... I was underweight.
Like others has said before ... just keep an eye on your periods/symptoms. You only just begun with your cycles so you may not have it at all!!
