hi i kinda just stubbled on this site today and i have questions about insulin stabilizers.im having a hysterectomy in 11 days but b/c my age they are leaving my ovaries.i have had PCOS for 3 years but its not getting any better.i have tried all diets out there but to no avail.im only 26 yrs old and am grossly overweight b/c of this does anyone have any suggestions? thanks Kat
Wow, you have to have a hysterectomy? Is that as to manage PCOS symptoms, or for another reason?
I read your profile. I can't believe that your doc said that PCOS would clear up on its own!!!!!
So many docs say that if you lose weight that will help your PCOS, as if weight gain caused the PCOS, so weight loss must be the cure. Such is NOT the case!
PCOS actually causes the weight gain, PCOS will NOT go away on its own. Once you start treating the PCOS, you should be able to start losing weight.
Most women use Metformin (glucophage) to treat PCOS and have been able to finally start losing weight.
I don't use Met; I am using alternatives to treat my PCOS, and I have finally been able start losing weight.
Be sure to check out the diet and exercise board. Lots of great suggestions, encouragement, and weight loss buddies.

Metformin is a popular one these days for many cysters. The brand name is Glucophage. The XR of both seems to be best for reducing side effects. Metformin can also help some women better their symptoms including weight loss.
Are you getting a hyster to reduce your weight? I thought hysters made women gain weight.
im having a hysterectomy due to endometriosis several times and now again and also have survived cervical cancer. the gyno cant find my cervix anymore now that its gone extremely antererior so they want to be safe that the cancer doesnt come back. Kat
