Wink

You are not being a big baby!! Operations are scary stuff especially if you've never had one!!

I really don't know why your doctor told you that the keyhole surgery doesn't usually work, mine told me the exact opposite! He told me they do it with the keyhole surgery but if anything happens like the gall bladder tears, or there is any problem with the clips they put on either side of the bladder before they remove it, THEN they may have to go in the old fashioned way.

When I had mine it was like a breeze compared to what I expected it to be. I was given two weeks to recover and it only took maybe 4 days.
I found a video of the operation on the net when I found out I had to have mine removed and even though I don't normally like watching that kind of thing, I think it really made me less anxious to know exactly what they do and how. If you think it may help you, see if you can find one.
Don't worry too much though. Most of the cysters that have had the same OP say the same as I do, that it was worse to think about before than it really ended up being.

You'll do ok, I promise!!
And anything that you are concerned about, please do post! You are not a baby to be concerned about something that important to your health. Cysters here will give you encouragement and support no matter how big or small your problems are.
HTH
Hang in there it's almost over!!

Lots of luck for the operation I am sure you will be fine. I should imagine being nervous is perfectly normal!

Wow that's weird. My operation was done in Out Patients; went in for 7 a.m. and could leave at 5 pm as long as I had a ride...
Hope everything turns out OK !!

my op. was in the late morning so I was in recovery for a couple of hours and had had no problems. I guess that and the paper that they always send home after op's telling you what to watch for is expected to be enough for us here.
