Increased Depression On Spiro????? Hi everyone,
Not sure if this is where I should be posting this or not, but it seems about as appropriate here as any other thread.
I have had the diagnosis of PCOS for about 6 years, but only recently found a doctor who would actually treat it. But, that a whole other issue; I'm more than a little bitter about this!!!!!
I've been taking met for about 3.5 months now. I'm just getting up to 2000 mg due to the side effects. My endo recently (about two weeks ago) also started me on 50 mg of spiro twice a day. I have always had problems with severe depression; however, I was doing better than I had in years-was actually happy for the first time in a long time. I also have vit D deficiency and the treatment of that had helped tremendously. However, ever since I started the spiro, I have been severely depressed, and it has seemed to get worse day by day. I have been extremely fatigued and lethargic; experiencing a lot of brain fog, feeling worthless, lost all motivation, and have lost my appetite-not to mention I just haven't had the energy to even fix anything to eat. Before this, I was doing quite well on a healthy low-carb diet. I didn't take the spiro yesterday or today and I feel more like myself again. I'm not great but it's definitely better than the last 2 weeks have been. I've read that spiro can help depression in some. I'm just wondering if any others have noticed an increase in depression since starting spiro. Also, has anyone taken both the brand and generic and had a better experience with one or the other?I know that most generic meds are supposed to be the same as brands, but I have taken several meds in which the generic/brand versions made a big difference for me. Any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated. This site has truly been a great help.
Meds I'm taking:
Wellbutrin
Deplin (Folate)
Synthroid
B-complex
Magnesium
Neurontin
Ergocalciferol (vit d) |
