Smile Increased Energy?

Has anyone noticed an increase in energy after beginning Metformin? I've been on Metformin XR 500mg for 1 week today and have noticed a definite boost in my energy.

My daughter's school bus comes at 6:35am in the morning and I'm back home and in the bed by 6:45am. But, for the past 3 days I've been coming home and doing housework until it's time for me to get ready for work. I have to be at work at 8:30.

I've been dealing with always being tired for YEARS. I normally nap for 2 hours after work and still sleep thru the night with NO PROBLEM!

Yep! Congrats! The met is turning the sugar either complex or simple that you put into your body into mostly ENERGY instead of FAT, which was why you were so tired in the first place! Yeah...go you! Make sure you start a b12 vitamin, which met depletes from your body so you don't loose any of that energy! Good luck with continued success!

I have had more energy also, but just to warn you, when I first got up to the 1500 mg dose, I was totally exhausted for the first three or four days. Like flu exhausted. I just sat around the house reading or watching TV, but couldn't even stay awake for those activities! But it completely went away and the energy increase came back.
