Hi All...I have a question for you...in March I was put on 50mgs of Spiro and about the 2nd or 3rd month I started shedding more than usual...lately the endo has up'd the dose to 100mgs and now the shedding is even worse...I have been told that the shedding can be a good sign as well...so I am not sure right now...I really do not want to lose the rest of what I have but then again I know I should give this time as nothing happens over night...
Have any of you experienced initial shedding with Spiro?
Thanks!
Carri

I haven't noticed any shedding while on Spiro. I do know that you need to give spiro about 6 months before it takes full affect. If your doctor is not concerned, I would give it a little more time.

I have noticed it too, but didn't put two and two together until I read this post. I have only been on Spiro since April, but stopped for about 6 weeks because I was visiting my fiance in Japan for the summer and was getting unpredictalbe periods plus I am not on BCP. So I thought it better to stop cause I didn't want to concieve while there, you know? Now that I am back, I have started up again and noticed the hair loss.
I've noticed it as well. I thought at first that it was my roommate leaving little piles of hair in the bathroom and then I realized it was me, which was quite embarrassing. I'm not worried about it because it's listed as a side effect, but I was initially taken aback when I'd see all this hair that had fallen out after I brushed my hair. Hopefully we'll be like Hezzer and have the hair loss decrease soon!
