Default Increasing progesterone naturally

HI!
Since pcos is mainly estrogen dominance .. is there ayway to increase progesterone naturally (not the npc cream) ..by changes in diet .. any particular herb/foods that increase progesterone .. then again we have to ovulate to switch from estrogen to progesterone .. how do we do this?
I have been researching on a indian herb SHATVARI (Asparagus Racemosus) .. it seems to help .. anyone tried this. I have been prescribed met but not too keen on starting it. Any alternatives.

thanks
jay

Hi Jay,

I have had great success treating my PCOS by doing candida/yeast control. It has worked so well for me, that I have come to believe the PCOS, with all its symptoms, is caused by out of control candida in the body, and that anything that kills candida will help PCOS symptoms. (see my PCOS story for details, link in my sig)

Since candida control targets PCOS as a whole, not just symptom management, I haven't even tried to figure out which herbs are helpful for which symptoms. I don't take a seperate set of herbs for fertility, or hormone replacement, and another set of herbs for facial hair, and still yet other herbs for IR. I only take the herbs and/or supplements that kill yeast, and all my PCOS symptoms have improved as a result.

It is really nice that I don't have to figure out which herbs that I have to take at just the right time to replace the progesterone, or estrogen at which times during my cycle. That would be way to confusing for me. I personally think that if the yeast is kept under control, then the body can start to function normally, and start self regulating the hormones like it is supposed to do naturally.

There are many herbs that can help the body to keep candida under control. Do you know if SHATVARI (Asparagus Racemosus) has any effect on candida?

Natural Progesterone Cream (NPC) is extremely effective.

Are you avoiding it for any particular reason?

I think Vitex (herbal supplement) is supposed to regulate all your hormones.
