I'm going to post this question on a couple forums, just to show what an idiot I am!

I'm waiting on my first after-miscarriage AF. I can't conceive before I have AF, can I? It will be two weeks on Wednesday since we lost Daniel, and we were given the go-ahead for BDing today (already took advantage of that, BTW). The doctor said NORMALLY I will have my AF about 4 weeks from the m/c....I can't ovulate before then, can I?

Told you it was a stupid question!

Actually...I know several people who conceived a few weeks after their m/c and never got AF (obviously)......your AF might be late this month/cycle...but go for it....are you temping/opk-ing..or just havin' a great time (which, by the way...you totally deserve!)...

i know my doc told me no sex for 4 -6 weeks after we lost Matthew. Ultrasound showed that my cervix was still open and there was still fluid in my uterus (whatever that means) But we got the go ahead to BD at four weeks, but then good ol' aunt flo came to visit. Timing...perfect timing!

I would highly suggest preventing conception for at least a few months to give yourselves some time to heal. Those eggs can sneak in there whenever they get the chance! I started a cycle at 21 days, and I don't think I ovulated before it, but it is possible. I'm glad you all have had the chance to be close again... it was very important for DH and me.

it IS possible to ovulate straight after a miscarriage - I ovulated 14 days after my miscarriage in November... A lot of women DON'T ovulate in the first post m/c cycle, but it does happen

No stupid questions here! They're all normal!

You CAN ovulate before you get AF. I'd give your body a few months to heal, as Sheri suggested.
