Default infertility dr told me to stop taking met-...but...

I was told last week to stop taking metformin (2000mgs) because it wasn't doing me any good!

I was on it for 2 years- and never ovulated-
and it's hard for me to swallow the pills- I gag on them! GROSS

but since I've stopped them- I noticed my facial hair-OUT OF CONTROL! I had to pluck everyother day-now it's like every 12 hours! i have it on my whole face- neck- throat, sideburns, mustach, chin, cheecks- you name it- I have it on my face- and chest and stomach- I can't keep up with it- plus
I've been feeling really TIRED- and bloated- LIKE FAT FAT-
i think met helped me FEEL better- (could it helped with the hair?)

WHAT SHOULD I DO- should i go back on it? he's not the one that gave me the preciption anyway- my endo did- but I only see i'm once a year- and don't like him anyway- looks at me- and says-we'll keep you on the met (no change in dose) and xenical-which has stopped working for me too- 270lbs to 230lbs- but now for the last year and half- been stuck at 230lbs-and he is always saying "you need to lose more- about 50lbs more for sure" but I just can't seem to lose anymroe-----

help...

Hi Jen,
I personally would ask your endo. I wasn't prescribed met for ttc - I was prescribed it because of insulin resistance. It seems to me that if taking it made me feel better - I'd continue taking it. One of the things that have happened since I've been on it is my energy levels have gone up. So even if it never regulates my cycles (I would love it if it did!) I'll continue to take it.
Hope this helps.
Julia
