Default Information about insulin sensitivity

I'm just wondering if anyone has any information on insulin sensitivity. Years ago as a kid I had a gluclose tolerance test (maybe it's called something different but it's the one where you drink a sugary drink and get blood drawn every hour) and the results came back that I was hypoglycemic. I keep relating that somehow to my hirsutism but i'm so confused. Hypoglycemia if i'm not mistaken means I have low gluclose and high insulin. I just can't find any information on this. I can't find a genetic explanation in my family for the hirsutism but my grandmother has diabetes. By the way I can't get tested again because I have no insurance.

Also I keep finding things about these drugs like Metformin. It says they lower glucose and are insulin sensitizing agents. Isn't that the boat i'm already in? Is hypoglycemia related to hyerinsulinemia? I just don't understand this at all.
