Question INSANE cravings??

how do you handle insane cravings?.....i have just starting getting insane cravings lately....usually one week a month where i NEED to have bad food....i cannot help myself........is this a sign that my hormones are trying to correct themselves?......this week i have eaten and drank things that i dont even like but i WANTED it and NEEDED it or i felt like i would just die if i didnt get it asap..........what's up with that?.....i feel like it is because of my hormones because normally i wouldnt even touch the food i ate this week and normally it would make me sick

About a month ago I had the same experience. I felt stressed out and I was downing PBJ, lemonade iced tea, orange juice, amongst other sugary/starchy foods like a mad woman!

I think this may be due to IR???

I take met, but I havent seen aunt flo since August or Sept...I guess my body is going haywire...

That was me yesterday. I had an insane craving for salts then later that night I just HAD to have ice cream. Its so frustrating. I know better than to eat that junk, but there is just no calming the beast

Hi, I know what you mean about cravings for sweets or carbs. I read something about brushing your teeth when you've got bad cravings since the taste in your mouth after brushing will keep you from eating since you wouldn't be able to taste anything correctly. Anyhow hope it helps. I've tried it at night when I need to stop eating and it does work.

Brushing your teeth does help a bit...I have tried it before.

However, the sugar monster cant be controlled sometimes. My body feels absolutely out of control. I have found myself binging and I've never really done that before...

I had a similar problem over the summer. I kind of felt thirsty like mad, but nothing was satisfying except watermelon. I think I literally 3 watermelons in 2 weeks, I had it every day and sometimes just as a meal, it was the only thing that would make me feel better. After some research I found it was high in vitamin B so I figured maybe it was just what my body needed.

Directly after that it was sushi... don't ask me why, but I couldn't get enough. Didn't have to be fish either, veggie was ok. That and ahi tuna. After about a month of sushi madness that calmed down and I was back to my regular eating habits.

Now all I get are sugar cravings now and then for the most part.

I only had that madness sensation, gotta eat NOW, soon after I started Met and started getting hypoglycemia symptoms. It went away after a couple of weeks as my body got used to the Metformin. Now, occasionally I have fits of certian foods I can't get enough of. Done the sushi thing, pizza, now it's gummi bears.

Hmm, what haven't I craved? I'm not on the Met right now, but when I was on the Met, I didn't have the awful cravings and the insatiable hunger.

I've craved Raisin' Canes fried chicken fingers, Double Stuf Oreos, peanut butter on graham crackers, and always pasta (any kind.) I enjoy Italian wedding soup in a can too...and besides the high sodium, it's not too bad for ya, I guess.

For the past 6 months I have had to have Tostitos chips and pace picante sauce. If we had run out I would go mad eatting a bunch of other stuff but wouldn't be satisfied. I had my last fix yesterday and am going cold turkey!
I am trying to eat more fruits and veggies, wish me luck, I may need it!
