I just tried shrinking the image --it's behaving like a JPG image in my Word doc-- and this is having no affect on the file size. Hence, I'm open to suggestions.

God love ya, Kat! I've heard of zip files, but I'm a real novice. So please bear with me.
Can I create a zip file by pulling up the Word document? When I have this document up in Word, these are the options I have for "saving as":
Word Doc (*.doc) XML Doc (*.xml) Single File Web Page (*.mht, *.mhtml) Web Page, Filtered (*.htm, *.html) Document Template (*.dot) Rich Text Format (*.rtf) Plain (*.txt) Word 97-2003 & 6.0/95 - RTF (*.doc) Works 6.0 & 7.0 (*.wps) Works 7.0 (*.wps)
Otherwise, I'll have to consult my IT person (AKA "DH"). However, he is DEEPLY embedded in the doghouse at the moment. I may have cooled off by the time he comes home.
Thanks SOOOooo much for your help!

LOL! That's funny!!
Zipping a file only takes a second. I'm using a PC, so the instructions might be different if you're using a MAC.
But on PC, open up MY DOCUMENTS.
RIGHT CLICK, one time on the file you want to ZIP. (be sure not to double click...you don't want to actually open the file)
A drop down menu will open.
LEFT CLICK on SEND TO.
LEFT click on COMPRESSED (ZIP) FOLDER.
You should then see the 'zipped' manilla folder in your 'my documents. It will have the same file 'name', but will just look like a manilla folder with a zipper.
When you go to 'attach' to the thread, be sure to grab the zip file.
