Wow, I don't know what to say other than I hope you feel better soon! Even 141 is diabetic levels and even if your BS gets lower, you probably should still be on insulin because insulin may or may not be part of your longer duration control (and help get your A1C level to normal if its not already). Get some rest. If you have any other questions, feel free to post or PM me and I'll post what I can!

Have you tried asking your Dr for an anti-nausea medication? I've got insulin-dependant diabetes and used to be uncontrolled and at that time, my dr prescribed many diff ones for me..but the one that had the least side effects was Tigan capsules. They can give you Phenergan but it leaves a hangover feeling for at least a day after you take it (or it did for me). Drinking lots of water can bring your blood sugar down a little bit because it makes you use the restroom a lot. Getting your blood sugar lower is the best thing to do to make you feel better. Hmmm..and the other thing would be to watch what you are eating...big meals might make it worse because they might increase your blood sugar. Hope that helps!

Hi all

I am type 2 diabetic for nearly 4 years. I am taking 2000mg metformin a day but my sugars were extremely high all the time and i was very ill. My doctors tried allsorts of stuff but nothing helped until i was put on insulin last June.I am taking 2000mg met still with my insulin and i haven't looked back. I still get 'bad' days but they are no way as often as before the insulin. Also i am watching what i'm eating, exercising and loosing weight.

Good luck to all

Lin

I have had Type I diabetes for years and let me tell ya
YOU WILL FEEL LIKE CRAP FOR A WHILE!
Funny thing is, when I got out of the hospital after being diagnosed, I didn't even need my eyeglasses. I was only like that for about a week or so though!

I was on insulin during my last pregnancy & found that for the 1st month on it, I felt horrible. If I wasn't prego, I would've quit cause I felt so bad some days. But I don't recommend giving up.
It took a while to get used to the lower BS levels. I used to run over 140 fasting & felt normal so I really felt weird when I'd wake up in the 70's. After a few months I found that I could also feel "high" at lower than my pre-prego numbers, like around 160 instead of 250+.
Now I'm back on Met 2000mg/day, no insulin & am feeling run down & yucky cause I'm back to higher numbers again.

I think everyone gave good advice on your nausea problems at least until you get used to your new levels. Like Corey, I'll also suggest drinking more water, not only for better control of your BS, but also to help you feel better in general. I lost a lot of water through sweating & even had to add gaterade or propel & a sprinkle of salt to meals to help with the loss.
It does take time & effort to get under better control, but it's worth it in the long run & I'm sure others will agree to that.
Good Luck

thanks for the replies, over all im feeling a bit better..I've stayed on the insulin til we get my sugars completely under control but my A1c is still going up? my diet is good, im exercising, drinking water, doing everything tht I'm supposed to do. I'm doing the same diet as when my a1c was 6.4 and under 6 ive actually decreased my carbs and calories and my A1c is now 7.89 :| Im soo bummed out bout it because im working hard. I'm still taking my 2000 mg of metformin, Humilin R on a sliding scale and Lantus has been upped to 9 at bedtime.. I don't know what to do lately the insulin hasn't seemed to effect my numbers much at all but i'm not noticing any over 200 hardly but once here and there .. but if my A1c is that high its obviously been hitting a lot higher than that. I'm checking my fasting/morning numbers, one-two hours after meals, bedtime.. still checking a lot and i dont know whats going on

Still on the steriods? Because those alone will raise your bloodsugar and I don't know just how much control of it you'll have.
