I am wondering about the link between the two. I just had a mc a little over a week ago and had been on GlucXR but quit taking it on the recommendation of my Peri. I mc shortly after. I was never tested for IR but my OB put me on it for the PCOS. I was wondering if I AM IR and went off would that have caused the mc. I know I am probably grasping at straws here but my OB mentioned testing for it when we found out I had mc and I was curious if anyone knew or had any information on the subject.

I'm also wondering the same thing. I stopped taking Gluc XR before I got a + beta b/c my RE said it wasn't working for me anyways. I am definately IR (actually boarderline Diabetic). Now I'm wondering what I could do the get the IR in control and if that had anything to do w/ the chem. pg.
Maybe someone knows......

I personally believe the studies about met reducing the chances of mc. BUT, I just wanted to say that I am IR and stayed on my met and still had mc, so don't beat yourself up, OK?
This time around I stayed on again but am afraid to go off!

Yes I do believe Met helps reduce risks of losing pregnancies but I too was on Met during my entire (short-lived) pregnancy. I had no intention of going off it or lowering my dose. And I still miscarried.
