Default Insulite System

Has anyone tried this? I read all about it on their website. It is supossed to be a system developed specifically for PCOS...4 different things that you take together, along with diet and exercise regimen. I have been seriously thinking of trying it. If anyone here has tried it, please let me know.

Thanks!

You got me courious -- here is a link to what you get: http://pcos.insulitelabs.com/PCOS-Elements.php
Quote:
ELEMENT I – PCOS +
An exclusive formula designed to decrease circulating testosterone levels to reverse unwanted hair growth and acne. It also increases sex hormone-binding globulin, which decreases free-floating testosterone and estrone, enhances menstrual regularity and supports liver function by aiding detoxification pathways. Take two capsules twice per day with water between meals.
INGREDIENTS:

Saw Palmetto (berries) –
a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor impedes testosterone conversion and reduces circulating testosterone (androgens).
Vitex Agnus Castus –
Improves menstrual regularity, supports luteal phase of menstrual cycle and addresses hyperprolactinemia.
Stinging Nettle (root) –
Increases sex hormone-binding globulin.
Flax Seed
Supports estrogen metabolism, which increases the production of protective estrogen metabolites and increases sex hormone-binding globulin.
Milk Thistle (seed, powdered extract) –
Supports liver function (phase 1 detoxification).
Supplement Facts:

Bottle contains: 120 caps
Serving size: 4 caps per day
Dosing recommendation: 2 caps twice per day between meals with water
Use with the InsulX, RejuvenX, and GlucX formulas
Quote:
ELEMENT II - PCOS/InsulX
A carefully formulated combination of pure nutrients which naturally change the interaction of individual cell membranes with insulin. PCOS/InsulX is primarily designed to increase the number of insulin receptors on the surface of the cell. As a result, cells can accept glucose more efficiently which reduces circulating blood glucose. A decrease in blood glucose reduces the secretion of insulin -- a major cause of PCOS, also known as polycystic ovaries. When insulin and glucose are balanced, the symptoms of PCOS can begin to reverse. Take two capsules twice a day with food.

INGREDIENTS:

Vanadium] (Sulfate) -
Restores blood glucose, lowers cholesterol, increases insulin sensitivity, improves glucose tolerance and metabolism, decreases body fat and reduces appetite naturally.
Chromium (GTF Niacinate) -
Supports insulin binding to cells and decreases cholesterol and insulin levels. Boosts insulin response to glucose.
Alpha Lipoic Acid -
Increases insulin sensitivity and lowers glucose levels. Provides antioxidant activity, scavenges free radicals, supports glucose transport and extends the functional capacity of Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Co Q 10.
Magnesium (Amino Acid Chelate) -
Positively affects insulin secretion/action and improves cholesterol profile. (Lower than normal levels of Magnesium Glycinate are associated with Insulin Resistance, glucose intolerance and hyperinsulinemia.)
Zinc (Picolinate) -
Lowers insulin concentration and improves insulin sensitivity.
L-Carnitine (Tartrate) -
Improves insulin sensitivity.
Copper (Citrate) -
Balances zinc and supports its ability to lower insulin concentration.
Calcium (Citrate/Malate) -
Reduces fasting insulin levels, increases insulin sensitivity and regulates fat tissue.
Biotin USP -
Involved in the manufacture and release of insulin; a cofactor required for the synthesis and oxidation of fatty acids.
Manganese (Citrate) -
Reverses glucose intolerance, a deficiency associated with Diabetes.
Pancreatic Tissue -
Contains specific amino acids in the correct proportions to supply growth, balance and repair factors of the pancreas.
Adrenal Tissue -
Contains specific amino acids to supply growth, balance and repair factors of the adrenals.
Protease and Amylase -
Improve absorption and digestion of proteins and nutrient absorption.

Supplement Facts:

Bottle contains: 120 caps
Serving size: 4 caps per day
Dosing recommendation: 2 caps twice per day with meals
Use with the PCOS+, PCOS/RejuvenX, and PCOS/GlucX formulas
Quote:
ELEMENT III – PCOS/RejuvenX
This high potency blend of herbs and antioxidants focuses on improving the vessels of the cardiovascular system as well as cellular vitality. An additional benefit is the reversal of damage to the cardiovascular system caused by PCOS (sometimes referred to as Polycystic Ovarian Disease) and Insulin Resistance. Over time, the interior lining of blood vessels are damaged when insulin levels are elevated and this damage contributes to the formation of Cardiovascular Disease. Elevated insulin also causes free radical damage and vessel injuries which are important factors in the progression of PCOS and Insulin Resistance. PCOS/RejuvenX contains high quality anti-oxidants designed to repair cardiovascular vessel integrity, minimize free-radical damage, prevent lifestyle-related diseases and reverse symptoms associated with elevated insulin. An additional benefit is improved immune function. Take two capsules twice a day with food.
INGREDIENTS:

Vitamin C (Calcium Ester C © ) -
Balances Vitamin C deficiency that induces disordered glucose regulation, improves glucose tolerance and scavenges free radicals. Reduces damage to arteries and arterioles and reduces glycosylation.
CoQ10 (Idebenone) -
Lowers glucose and insulin levels and plays a major role in carbohydrate metabolism. Aids peripheral glucose utilization while lowering fasting blood sugar.
Vitamin B12 (methlycobolamin) -
Reduces neuropathy associated with Diabetes, sorbitol accumulation, muscle weakness and tingling.
Folic Acid (Calcium Folinate) -
Ensures sufficient folate status to aid in the prevention of many chronic diseases (e.g. atherosclerosis, anemia, heart disease) and reverses homocysteine levels.
Quercitin -
Contains antioxidant, anticarcinogenic and anti-inflammatory properties to inhibit free radical production. Reduces intracellular accumulation of sorbitol that is implicated in the pathogenesis of cataracts, retinopathies, neuropathies and other disorders.
Bilberry Extract --
Improves microcirculation and protects the vessels of the eyes in particular with potent antioxidants.
Grape Seed Extract -
Reduces free radicals and possesses vital antibacterial, antiviral, anticarcinogenic, anti-inflammatory and antiallergic effects. (Its antioxidant properties are 20 to 50 times stronger than Vitamins C and E.) Lowers cholesterol levels and prevents damage to the artery from elevated glucose and insulin levels.

Supplement Facts:

Bottle contains: 120 caps
Serving size: 4 caps per day
Dosing recommendation: 2 caps twice per day with meals
Use with the PCOS + ,PCOS/InsulX, and PCOS/GlucX formulas
Quote:
ELEMENT IV - PCOS/GlucX
PCOS/GlucX is a combination of natural fibers designed to help regulate the absorption of glucose into the blood stream while reducing cholesterol and triglycerides, to lower blood pressure and decrease insulin levels. Because high insulin levels promote PCOS, this product is essential to reducing insulin spiking thereby initiating the reversal of PCOS. Additionally, research demonstrates the benefits of high fiber intake as relates to weight loss and cardio-protective effects. PCOS/GlucX contains Fenugreek, an herb that decreases the absorption of carbohydrates into the blood stream as well as prevents insulin spikes that occur with carbohydrate intake. Fenugreek also has specific benefits for blood sugar balancing. Take six capsules twice a day with 8 oz. of water, between meals.
INGREDIENTS:

Guar Gum -
Decreases cholesterol, triglycerides and systolic blood pressure. Increases insulin sensitivity and regulates appetite.
Apple Pectin, Beet Powder & Oat Fiber -
Slow the absorption of glucose into the blood stream which reduces insulin response.
Fenugreek -
Reduces blood sugar and insulin following a meal, lowers cholesterol levels (LDL, TG and total Cholesterol), increases HDL and improves insulin response and glucose tolerance.
Milk Thistle -
Diminishes fasting blood glucose, mean daily glucose and fasting insulin levels.

Supplement Facts:

Bottle contains: 360 caps
Serving size: 12 caps per day
Dosing recommendation: 6 caps twice per day between meals with 8 ounces of water.
This supplement can also be taken with meals.
Use with the PCOS +, PCOS/InsulX, and PCOS/RejuvenX formulas
Elements V & VI are Diet and Exercise and apparently you get a "step by step" plan for each and step VII is 'support and motivation'..

And here is the info on the cost: http://pcos.insulitelabs.com/Order-I...COS-System.php although I guess if you are interesting in doing, you might read the whole thing!

It is interesting to see which suppliments they used in the products - I sort of tried to compare it to some of the items listed as helpful for PCOS on MaryKate's website: http://members.aol.com/marykateroget/

I have been on insulite for 4 months. I ordered the 6 months supply so I pay $109.00 per month.

This is the "magic pill" as far as I am concerned. It is worth the money. If you tried to buy all of the ingredients separately you would pay alot more.

This is what symptoms it has taken away!!!
I no longer have:
migraines
hair loss on my head
mood swings
depression
anxiety
food cravings leading to over eating
facial hair is less

I now have:
a period each month

I went off of metformin a year ago. I see my endo in May so i will see how insulite is affecting my blood work compaired to how it was on met.

I feel more "normal" now. Like my body is in control and I know what to expect each day.

taking insulite is alot of pills each day, 24. but you get use to it plus it helps to get in your water consumption through out the day!

I've been on it for about 1 1/2 months...I have lost weight on it and I do feel better...I know that they say we're supposed to give it atleast 6 months...so I'm going to give it that...I'm waiting though for my blood results to come back to see if my insulin is lowered.

I am really thinking about trying it. I am so disgusted with all the symptoms. But one main thing that I haven't seen mentioned on here is that I am so exhausted all day, every day. I have zero energy. I bet that if my body was working right, I would feel better. You would think I'd have to, right? I wonder if that is part of the PCOS, or something completely different. I have mentioned it before to my doctor when talking about the PCOS symptoms and he seemed to think I'm tired just because I'm fat. But I dont' think so. I've been this way my whole life, even when I was thin.

Oh well. If it helps the facial hair, acne, weight, and IR (I get really tired and dizzy after I eat), I will feel like a new woman. that would be a miracle!

I am interested to find out how all your blood work came back after being on the Insulite! I'm excited for y'all! Maybe somebody has finally made something that works. I do think it is too expensive, but if it does all it says, it is VERY worth the money to me. I do not feel like myself at all. I would pay whatever I could spare to feel like me again.

It is really tough to deal with being so lethargic all the time. For me following a low carb diet helped with that. Not that I necessarily had more energy it was that I had the same amount of energy throughout the day, no afternoon slump.

I know what you mean about every "symptom" your body has you think is this PCOS or something else.

I wish you luck with your search for answers. It's a long journey.

I'm still on insulite...just got my insulin checked...it came down from 16 to 14 since being on it...I'm not sure if it's the low carbing, cinnamon, walking everyday or what...but I've lost weight and the weight is coming off.

I'm starting to feel better actually...Every 1 lbs that I lose I feel different...it's weird. I'm looking forward to getting out of the 230's...it's coming off pretty nicely now

I just don't eat breads and if I do I eat the low carb wheat bread...I drink only water now...nothing else at all...I don't like soda so that makes it easier...I've gone from drinking 7 cups of coffee a day down to nothing...that was the hardest part I had major headaches for about 3 days. I don't eat any sugar now...pretty much eat more proteins and veggies...some fruit, but not too much...I'm actually getting used to it...I don't crave what I used to. My goal is to be ready for IVF and get ride of as many symptoms as I have with PCOS...one day at a time I say

Oh, and if I do have carbs in my day...I try to portion it with my protein...portions are my thing now, plus I don't eat past 6:00 pm at night anymore...that's helped me sooo much

Thumbs up insulite

I've been on insulite for about a month now. The most significant thing I've noticed is I kind of had a period this month! (cramps, spotting only one day.) Which I normally don't unless I'm on BCP. The only thing I don't like about insulite is the 24 pills a day! I'm getting used to it though. I've noticed i have more energy also.

I just started seeing a new Endo a couple months back and the first thing he did was send me to do a sleep study and blood work. I was real hesistant at first. The first night I went to do the study I was miserable and hardly slept. I dont' sleep very well as it is especially if I'm not at home. Let alone the thought of someone watching me and listening to me sleep. The tech said I only slept for minutes at a time. lol.. The first question I asked was,"What if i dont' sleep?", so I wasn't surprised at his comment.

The 2nd night I refused to go becuase I was so miserable the first night. I'm so glad I went though. The 2nd night of the study was with the CPAP machine. I swear by that machine even just using it for that one night....I felt so much better. They woke me up at 5am and I stayed gone from the house till 9pm. Where as my normal days are spent sleeping all day long and just awake for a few hours at a time usually. But I'm so tired and exausted I never have the energy to do anything usually. My friends ask me to go out and I always say no I'm tired I'm going back to bed. "Didn't you just wake up?" It's so pitiful. It's like and endless cycle but that day I used the CPAP machine I slept through the night and was gone all day like a normal person. I had the same energy all day and was never sleepy for a nap. I felt great. I really honestly swear by that machine in just the one night I used it. I have a follow-up with a Pulmonologist in two weeks to talk about the test results for sleep apnea.

My new Endo sent me to do the sleep study because lack of sleep can cause hormone imbalances and diabetes. The down side of the follow-up appt. with my Endo to talk about my blood work results was that the Metformin wasn't doing enough for me but he didnt' increase it or say anything else but except send me home crying. ( That's another story) Yes thanks for helping me with my sleep but what about everything else????? My testosterone level in 6 months went from 91 to 168 and this is with going to gym and dieting. (I'm 5'3" and 230lbs)

So I just ordered the Insulite to try it out. Maybe it is the lack of sleep or lack of good sleep that really is effecting my body like he says to a certain degree. But I dont' want to sit around and wait anymore for doctors so I was giving the Insulite a try. It sounds pretty interesting and has just the right herbal ingredients that alot of the woman take on here individually. It's worth a shot.

Sorry I always talk so much when I respond to posts. I just thought I would mention my sleep study for ButterflyWingz. Anything and everything is worth a shot if it makes you feel better. You should ask for a sleep study. You can be skinny or overweight and have sleep apnea.

I've only had the opportunity to try it out for one night so far as part of a sleep study.. But I have an appt with a Pulmonologist to discuss getting a machine permanently. Most Insurance Companies cover the cost but if they don't it's about a $1000. CPAP stands for Continous Positive Air Pressure. I wore a mask that covered just my nose, although there are several different masks a person can wear and different forms of the machine also. There is also a BiPAP machine. If you run a search on the internet it'll tell you a little bit more but I can tell you my experience for an example.

Basically this mask that you wear blows air continously into your nose, keeping you from snoring and constantly pushing air into your nose and lungs so you don't stop breathing while you sleep. You wear it every night. You can be skinny or overweight to have sleep apnea.

The first night of the study I only slept with leads and wires hooked up on different parts of my face, the back of my neck, on my chest and on my legs. I also wore two types of belts with sensors on them...one just where my bra line is at and the other that went across my chest. The belts are used to measure heart rate and respirations. The other leads and wires measure brain funtion/waves and muscle movement.

As you move and breath through out the night information is printed on this spread sheet along with being video recorded and sound taped as you sleep. You have to stay for atleast 6 hours. The results/printouts are read and reviewed to determine if you have sleep apnea or even some other kind of sleep disturbance. Based on what they determine, you are asked to go back for a second night and sleep with a CPAP machine to see how the machine helps you to sleep better and if you need the machine or if surgery can correct your sleep apnea problem. The tech said usually they recommend the machine over surgery though.

I'm not going to lie though and say it isn't just a little freaky to have this air blowing in your nose...Kind of has a claustrophobic effect or like the wind blowing and taking a babies breath away kind of sensation. But it passes after a minute or so. ( I was okay sitting up having the air blow through my nose but It was a whole different ball game when I laid down with the air blowing. That's the part I struggled with more then anything but only for a minute or so.) Even with all that said I still swear by it, cause you adapt to it very quickly.

On the 2nd night I slept with the same wires and leads and also with the CPAP machine. The Tech was constantly changing the air pressure to different settings to see which one worked best to keep me from snoring etc. And a spread sheet/print out records the results same as the first night except to see how the reading changed from the first night to the second night using the CPAP. When I sleep, I'm always snoring (like a grizzly bear) usually wake up with a headache in the mornings and sometimes I wake up coughing or gasping and that's just a reflex reaction to when you stop breathing. Most of the time my boyfriend and I sleep seperately just because I'm so loud and restless.

It's hard to type this out to explain this. It's so much easier to talk about it so I'm sorry if it's a little confusing. When I used the CPAP machine I felt so rested and the tech had to shake my hand to wake me up and usually I'm half asleep that I can hear everything and don't need to be shaken to wake up.

I hope I answered all your questions. If you run a search online you probably could get a better understanding. I really swear by this machine. I felt so much better just from this one night using it, I just have to wait and see what happens at my doctors appt. I was actually sad to go to sleep the next night because I knew that I'd be awake just as soon as I fell asleep. I laid down at 9:30-10 pm to sleep and was up at 2:30 am. Stayed awake till 4am went back to sleep till 8am, then around 3pm was really sleepy again... woke back up at 7pm......Was awake untill 9 or 10. Every day is like this...never ending sleeping and still being exausted and tired.
