Default Insurance in Raleigh, NC???

I really need some opinions. I am moving the Raleigh, NC and most likely will not have a job by the time I move. I am looking into getting indivudual coverage in the interim. I don't want to go with my COBRA because it is only in a limited area and not that far away.

The insurance that I have seen the most is Time Insurance. Does anyone have it? Do you like it? What do you like? What don't you like?

Is there another insurance company I should be looking at??

Thanks for the help

I'd apply for it before you cancel or run out of time to get COBRA. I got denied by several companies in several states (not NC though) for PCOS, and I'm not even overweight or on meds at the time.

I didn't know you could get cancelled for PCOS! I am applying way before I won't have COBRA. I have to wait a little bit to figure out where I am living exactly. I just want short-term and I have to wait until there is 30 days or less from when I want to start it.

Thanks for the heads up!

Well, whoa, not cancelled per say, but denied. I got laid off in 2002 and though, okay I'll just buy cheap private insurance since COBRA was $500/mo and I was unemployed with NO prospects. I got denied by companies in CA, UT, and other states we were gonna think about moving to. I think, too, once you're denied by one, the others seem to find out somehow. It was really depressing. Finally ended up having to pay COBRA until I took a job with a school system specifically to get group insurance in GA.

Now group (employer) insurance cannot deny you, cannot can you, and cannot refuse to pay for pre-existing stuff unless you have a gap in your insurance.
