Well, this looked like the best place to post first so here goes...
I'm Melissa. I was dx'd with PCOS and IR in December 2006 by my RE after three and a half years of TTC with zero success. I suspected PCOS for years after a friend of mine was dx'd with it and was given an information sheet by her doctor. Everything I read fit me perfectly but no doctor would listen to me so I just suffered in silence. Besides, who cared if I had problems with IF? I didn't want kids (I wasn't married yet).
Now I'm trying everything and anything to try and get PG. After a failed round of injects (Follistim w/ trigger) I decided it was time to take a break from TTC. I'm on BCPs (Apri-28 this cycle, starting Yasmin next) so I can get some of this PCOS junk under control. I've gained more weight than I care to admit and losing it is SO hard. I'm on 2000mg of Met after my last fasting insulin came back 19. (It had dropped to 12.1 after one month of being on met.)
DH and I have two furbabies and one angel in heaven (m/c'd first and only PG after 4 years of trying). I'm glad to have found a community that centers around PCOS and not just TTC.
