My name is Beth. I have had PCOS since puberty. I wasn't told I had it until Feb of this year. I went undiagnosed for the last 4 1/2 years when I was having really bad symptoms. My doctor just kept treating me with BCP. I went to a new doctor that said I have always had it but having a baby and the weight gain from it made my symptoms appear more and make everything worse. I have my next appointment tomorrow and I'm due to have fluid up into my cervix to make sure nothing else is wrong then I start the MEtformin tomorrow. I am nervous about the side effects but I am hopeful that my body will adjust and I will see results soon. Currently I have been bleeding since the 8th of July this time. VERY HEAVY and just so bad. I weight about 195-200 right now. I have allot of resentment towards my old doctor because for the last 2 1/2 years she's been putting in my chart that I have PCOS but hasn't told me until FEB of this year. I could have been getting treated and I just feel so angry and hurt by this whole thing. She made me give up and think that there was nothing else I could do and this was just me. I was encouraged finally by a pharmacists to go to another doctor and I was shocked when she was so proactive about PCOS. I am now hopeful about my periods being normal, about my weight dropping a little easier and all the other symptoms I have going away or getting not so bad atleast. I will post again my progress. Also, does anyone know anywhere to kind of blog or journal my pcos symptoms and the changes?

That's not right. Your last doctor should have told you as soon as she was sure of it! I was lucky to get referred to a specialist by my family doctor after a blood test. I'm glad you're new doctor is proactive about it, and hope that things continue to improve for you!
