Hello, My name is Erin. I have just been diagnosed with PCOS on Wednesday from my fertility specialist. This is my story...
In January of 2006 DH and I decided it was time for us to start our family. I had my IUD removed the next month. I used an ovulation kit to see when in my cycle I was ovulating, turns out that month I had not ovulated at all. I went to my doctor about it and they said "oh those ovulation kits don't work". So I assumed she was right and we continued to try. I had been put on the Evra patch to try to get my cycles back in check for 6 months. My father was very sick during this time so I was okay with not TTC at that point. After the patch came off my cycles went wonky again. However we were able to concieve our first baby in July of 2008, which ended in a miscarriage at 7-8 weeks (due date just passed 2 weeks ago). We then were able to conceive again in November of 2008 sadly that was a missed miscarriage I was 13 weeks pregnant but the baby was only 9 weeks 3days (due date August 2nd). I had to take a pill to help my body pass my baby. It was the most traumatising moments in my life!!! This miscarriage I went to the Early Pregnancy Assesment Clinic in London, ON where they are AWESOME! They suggested that normally you don't get referred to a specialist until your 3rd miscarriage. I LOST IT!!! They wanted me to go through this AGAIN!!!! I faught for weeks to get in to see the fertility specialist (fs). Finally 6 weeks later I got the call of the appointment. PHEW!! Relief. We have gone to see him and he has diagnosed me with PCOS, that was on Wednesday. So now the journey of TTC with PCOS has begun. I have high hopes for this journey and I am so glad that I have found this forum. I hope to be at least pregnant for the next due date (aug 2) as it is very difficult to see those days pass) I kinda feel alone as my mom, the nurse, doesn't even understand. My aunt also had PCOS and has gone on to have triplets (Clomid) and naturally one more. So I know there are success stories out there, I just hope I will get my chance to have a success story as well.
Sorry for the long rant but that is my story. I tried to keep it short and sweet. I look forward to getting to know more women with this so we can all be Cysters (LOVE THE CYSTERS THING).
