Default Introduction and Work out thread?

Hi,

my name is Lauren and I have been on the board for little while but watching from afar for a longer time. I love that there is this group of women out there who are so supportive of each other. A little about me is that I live in brooklyn, ny - i live with my partner of 3 years & two kitties. We had a committment ceramony last year in September and are not quite ready to TTC.

I am now working hard to lose some of this weight so I can be ready to TTC in about a year. Are any of you interested in starting a thread in Rainbow cysters about exercise/weight loss. I have considered joining a thread in those sections - but thought i would love to be doing this with others - espicially because it is really not my favorite thing... Anyway - sort of a long post but looking for some workout buddies so let me know if you are interested.

Hi Lauren,
My partner and I are in the process of trying to lose weight. We go to the gym regularly. We have been going since the beginning of Feb. It has been great. We are working on losing 50 pounds each. Once we reach our goal we are going to be going to DisneyWorld . I needed something to work for . Hope to hear from you soon,

Hi Mel - Yay!!! I am so happy you responed.... I also would like to lose 50 pounds. And my partner (not a PCOS gal) would like to lose about 20. We had a big talk this morning... and we decided to buy a scale - and I told her how much I really weigh. I think that Disneyworld is a great incentive - Heather and I will have to think of something like that.
I don't belong to a gym but I have been doing yoga 2-3 times a week and I am ready(or as much as I will ever be) to start doing cardio in the morning. This weekend will be my kickoff.
I would love to chat with you about our goals and progress. I think it will be motivational to me and hopefully to you too. Also thank you for my rainbow - i love it.

ah, the dreaded scale . My gf always gets on the scale when we are at the gym. I stay clear of it. It seems to really control my motivation so I just do measurements once a month. My sister is a yoga instructor . She really enjoys it. So where are you guys from? I live in Ontario, Canada.

I could have wrote the post about going to DW myself.

My partner and I are both wanting to go to Disney World.

We each want to lose 50 pounds.

I tend to do better with email pals. Since it's something that is always easy to check. ( where as the boards aren't always that easy to get to!)

Erika I hope you make it to DW .
I am looking forward to losing the weight, it has been a slow start for us. I am hoping to get myself more motivated soon. Hopefully summer will do the trick
