Default IPL treatments????

I'm going for a consultation on Friday and I would appreciate any info that you ladies have on IPL.

I have coarse dark hair so the lady figured that it would work well for me.

Any experience, comments or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What I'd like to know from those who have had laser treatments is did abstaining from plucking or waxing during the treatment drive you crazy? My biggest fear is how I will look if I quit plucking my chin and neck area. I understand that you can shave during treatment, but how does your face look/feel during that time while you are letting them grow before you can have treatment and waiting for them to fall out?

Also I have about half dark hair and half coarse blonde hair. Some of my hair even has a blonde tip but a dark root! I'm afraid that they couldn't get any of the blonde hair and it wouldn't be worth what I would have to pay.

OrangeDaisy,

I had Gentlelase laser done. After each treatment I stayed inside the whole two weeks plus until all the dead hair fell out. The last two treatments weren't as long as a wait. During those two weeks there was no shaving that could be done as the hair was (fried) dead and stuck there until it shed. At least that is how it was for me.

After those miserable two weeks my face was smooth and beautiful!!! Then it would start to grow in again near six to eight weeks later and I'd get the laser again.

hairymonster,
I tried an IPL (Epilight) before I tried and Gentlelase and it was a disaster. The hair kept on growing even after two treatments..... I didn't go back! This was six years ago. I don't know if it's the same now. Please ask some one or do a search on "IPL" and read up on them at http://www.consumerbeware.com/forum/

Also, please do what you can to get your hormones balanced. Five years after getting laser I have new hair! Not nearly as bad as before...but still costly and annoying....

Maybe an IPL is okay and for you... everyone is different. Good luck!
