Default IR Friendly "Meat"loaf??

So, I have just finished reading the IR diet book, and I have started my lifestyle change!!

Anyway - I made a Turkey meatloaf the other night, and here is what I used:
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 1/2 to 3/4 can (14 oz can I think) CRUSHED tomatoes (no extra sugar added)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. italian style bread crumbs (count as 1 carb serving)

Mix all ingredients together, saving a portion of the crushed tomatoes. Put in pan and top loaf with remaining crushed tomatoes. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes (or until cooked through).

I paired this with a salad, fat free salad dressing and all natural, parmesean and garlic seasoned red potatoes.

Is this considered a balanced meal??

Thanks (and enjoy the recipe - so easy to make!!)

That's pretty balanced. I use whole wheat bread crushed up instead in meatloaf, but I don't eat Italian bread anymore anyway.

There is an article on this board about how full fat dressings are better than low fat ones since the fat helps you process the vitamins in the salad better. However, since you are eating it with meatloaf, that turkey fat would work.
