Default IR Med confusion

I have been on Met. for a good while now. Recently my symptoms have gotten worse and I'm thinking of asking for either a larger dose or a switch to another med.

Which do you use?

Which works best with weightloss, hairloss and unwated hair growth?

So far I have found these as possible IR drugs. Am I missing any?

Avandia
Avandamet (Avandia & Met combined)
Metformin/Glucophage
Actos
Sitagliptin ( Januvia)
Janumet (Januvia and Met.)

I too am on Met, and it helps control IR. I also take 200 mg of Spiro to help slow the growth of unwanted body hair, losing the hair on my head, and acne. I've also been using prescription topical acne treatments for the past few months and just started using the Nioxin system to further help the alopecia.

Unfortunately there's no quick fix for PCOS. I don't think any one treatment I've tried or am currently on has helped fix EVERY PCOS-related problem (especially weightloss). For me, it's been about being healthy and watching carbs in conjunction with rigorous exercise 4+ times per week.

I have been watching my diet since October of 2002 and went down from 230 to 167. I'm up to 180 now without adding back in potatos or sugar. The Met. actually helped me with a weight plateau, but right now things seem to be getting worse. My cycle is still fine and my acne is better I think.
