I guess this q would go here...

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to monitor insulin other than going in and having bloodwork? My glucose is always normal, but I am IR. So a gucose monitor is of no use. I am having trouble w/the met working to control the IR.

Good question, I'd like to know too! As far as I know, the fasting test is the only way to test it??

Are you looking to monitor 'insulin' or 'insulin resistance'?

Here's an article which discusses various clinical methods of assessing IR:

Is sounds like the more 'simple' the diagnostic method, the less accurate it is.

Thanks kat! I have IR and my insulin level was 36 on my last visit, so I am looking for a way to monitor insulin level w/o going in to the dr and donating MORE blood to their vampires.
