When you have Insulin Resistance and you have a significant weightloss, will that make the IR go away? I'm clueless! TIA Ladies!!

I'm not sure about this, but I don't think the weight loss, itself, is the cause for reduced insulin resistance.
In my case, it was controlling my insulin resistance that allowed me to lose weight (with effort). As my weight came down, the effort needed to control my insulin resistance was reduced.
Again, I'm no doctor, and I'm only speaking from personal experience...

Controlling my IR & weight-loss went hand-in-hand, but I think it's because I had to do major changes to my diet to control the IR, so the healthier eating led to weight loss.

I'm not sure on this, but the last time I was at the doctor, she told me that if I could get down to a target weight, the chances would be good that I could come off of the Met. Not sure if that's because at that point I'd be eating healthier, or if my insulin levels would naturally taper off as I got thinner.

That's true. But more than likely, your healthy habits were also helping to lower your insulin levels.
There was a study posted (it's in the quick links below) that showed that exercise lowered insulin levels in women with pcos (even when weight loss didn't occur.)
