Yep, I'm from Dublin but have been living in the UK for 3.5 years now.

There are a good few Irish girls who've popped in here but not really stuck around. Maybe they'll see your post and pop back!

Paddy (get it? )

Found it...

Not just for PCOS, one of the Mods here posted it the other day, I think she is Irish and it's her forum or something like that...

Correct me if I am wrong!

Nope...I know it well. When I was a kid we used to go swimming in Rathmines. I remember the Swan Shopping Centre well...is it still there?

Hi ladies,

i just registered a couple of minutes ago so my reply won't look as fancy as all yers, but I'll have time to beautify my profile ;-)

I just spotted the Irish thread so I thought I'd drop a line. I moved to Ireland 5 years ago, I'm currently living in Cork, soon moving to Crosshaven.
I haven't got the official tag of PCOS but i've had various symptoms developing all my life and discovering this website has motivated me to want to get to the bottom of it all. I've lived in denial of my issues partly because I'm so sensitive about the visible side (the bloody hair) of it and partly cos every doctor I visited back home put me on the pill for the periods and fobbed me off with any other issues and told me to get over it. As if it was that easy!!! I was actually hoping to find sth like "recommend a doctor" on this site cos i'm determined to fight my battle now that I'm settling for a more permanent stay in Ireland, but I don't know where to start. I've only visited a GP here 3 times in 5 years and all of them were unpleasant so I'll just have to risk a new place...
Sorry for the book, I'm partly writing it so that when I get up tomorrow and try to go back to my denial mentality, I'll have a posting here to remind me of the moment when i said i'd had enough of this crap and its time to do sth....

Hope to meet ye all soon again...
