Red face Irritable Bowel Syndrome

What does it feel like to have Iritable Bowel Syndrome?? (Both constipation and diarrhea)

And, is it possible to have IBS w/ constipation AND dirahea?? (I get REALLY constipated at times, for days on end, and then, I eat something that perhaps I shouldn't have, and then BAM....Well, you know where I"m going with this! ) Then... a week later, the constipation comes back again ....What's up with this? Is this possibly IBS?????

Also, what's the symptoms of IBS? Is it normal to cramp up? Abdominal pains outside and inside the pelvic region?? And, most importantly, lower back pains??

Thanks beforehand for repsonses!!

Default IBS

ALL OF THAT IS VERY NORMAL WITH IBS WITH CONSTIPATION. I HAVE JUST RECENTLY REALIZED THAT ALL OF THESE SYMPTOMS GO HAND AND HAND WITH PCOS AND MORE SO DECREASED LEVELS OF PROGESTERONE. I HAVE TAKEN ZELNORM FOR 6 WEEKS ON 2 SEPERATE OCCASIONS AND HAVE NEVER FELT BETTER. NOW I AM GOING TO START GLUCOPHAGE WHICH SHOULD HOPEFULLY TREAT THE INITIAL PROBLEM THE IR INSTEAD OF TREATING ALL OF MY SYMPTOMS WITH SEPERATE MEDICATIONS. (ZELNORM FOR IBS; PROGESTERONE TO HAVE A PERIOD; AND SOON LIPITOR FOR HIGH CHOLESTEROL). HOPE THIS HELPS.

You're symptoms sound EXACTLY like IBS. Alternate diarrhoea and constipation is classic aswell as cramps/spasms (particulary after eating).

Not everyone with IBS will all have exactly the same symptoms, it can of course vary from person to person, but what you describe is very common to IBS sufferers.

However, IBS does tend to come on people at a fairly young age (and may or may not get progressively worse as they get older) - if you've had a sudden change in bowel habits and are past your teens/20's, then it's wise to always get checked out.
