Default Irritated with my GYN ( Dark Skin Under Arms )

UGH! I have dark skin under my arms and previously had some itching. She gave me a cream for the itching saying the whole thing, dark skin and itching, was dermatitis. The little itchy spot may have been because the cream made that go away, but my dark skin is still there. We haven't even gotten blood work back to check my insulin levels (which btw diabetes is rampant on BOTH sides of my family) and she's already shoving me off to a dermatologist! Hell, I barely have time to go see her, let alone some dermatologist who probably knows very little about PCOS. When my bloodwork comes back I am going to find a new GYN. She doesn't seem to care very much, talks very fast, and seems to care more about the surgery she just did or her next patient than taking the time to make sure I understand. I know it's complicated, but I have read a lot and I think the dark skin is probably insulin related. I suggested it and she TOTALLY brushed me off, said there's no way. Am I totally wrong here or could the dark skin be insulin related?

Anyone else have something similar happen to them?

Read the above thread, and find a new GYN.

Definitely find a new GYN.

Not exactly but my GP though it was a yeast infection and I got treatment for that that didn't help. And she dosn't know how to spell PCOS even.
My endocrinologist though it was AN but he wasn't alarmed about my insulin resistance at all. And he coulden't do anything. No help there. He looked AN up with google, I could have done that. Said that I should see a dermatologist. Haven't gotten around to that yet. But I belive that they actually might know something useful.

I find that mild cortisone cream helps.
