Default irritation/soreness

Hi All

Ok so this is a bit of a embarrasing one. About 4 months ago I started feeling really irritated and thought I had thrush, I took the canasten pessarys on a couple of occasions and it didn't help. I thought maybe it was cystitis as I wasnt really getting all the discharge that thrush gives you. So I took some treatment and drank alot of cranberry juice. But it didn't help so I went to the docs and she tested me and it came back showing no infections. She was really baffled but she gave me some anti biotics anyway to see if they would help. they did but gradually over the last few weeks it seems to be coming back.

The symptoms I have is a irritated, burning feeling around the entrance of the vagina. It is also a bit itchy. I know this sounds alot like cystitis or thrush but I don't really have any discharge that thrush gives you and also I don;t feel I need the toilet all the time , when I do go my urine doesn't necessary sting but it does feel it is irritating me more.

Can anyone help as I am starting to feel really frustrated.

Thanks

That does sound annoying. I did have a similar sounding thing a few months ago, I never actually went to the doctor or found out if it was actually thrush, I should have done really. Like yourself, I used Canasten etc., creams, pessarys, you name it! However, it did mildy continue for numerous weeks, sometimes worse than others.

Sorry to sound crude but in the end I put it down to changing brand of condoms. I got this feeling the night we used it. urgh man I hate writing this, it's so personal lol! Anyway yea, they were err 'different' to normal ones lol (oh god!) when we stopped using that particular make, it never came back. For ages i couldn't wear knickers as it was irritating me so much.

It may not have been that but any change in soap, washing powder or anything that could effect 'those regions' maybe worth tracing back to see if you have usd anything different?

Best of luck. x

Hi

aww been there, too. It's horrible, isnt it??

As Shellie said - mine was caused by the make of condoms. Have you tried the hypo allergenic ones? They arent made with the same material as the others. Sorry, cant remember the name................. but they are bright yellow inside

Or it could be if you have a different type of soap/ bubble bath/ fabric conditioner.

Well, the things we all talk about here............ things we could never ask anyone else

I had something that sounds exactly the same. It was thrush though, but it never went away until I used Canestan Duo (pessary and the tablet). Once I used that it was fine.

Hope you get to the root of the problem

I used a canasten pessary and it seems to have helped . I also went to the docs this mroning.

I was on dianette but it was making me feel awful , like I was going crazy. So the doc has taken me off and I am going to try Norimin a diff birth pill. As she wants me to at least start having a period as I just don't have them otherwise. She is a really good doctor and listens to everything I say and gvies me advice. She has also given me Met to try. She openly explained that it is an unlicensed drug but she has given it to many woman whos symptoms have improved whislt taking Met. She said it should help with my weight issues too.

The other thing is that she took my BP and it is really high. So now I have to have an ECG!

Does anyone know what sort of things they look for with this???
