Question It itches! *points down* :(

Ok, so for almost a week I've had some horrible itching and now burning from all the scratching. I have some white paste kinda stuff, close to Elmer's glue...and the whole area...I mean everything my undies cover, is red and a few bumps are around.
I don't think it's a yeast infection, there's no cottage cheese and the white paste I have is fairly normal for me since my hormones are off and that kinda gives me some strange CM.
what else could it be? MAKE IT STOP!!! I won't have health insurance for a couple more months, but I have a allergy/asthma doctor here who I can see as needed, but I don't think I can see him for this NOT his area of practice.

I know it can't be bacterial, I'm on anti-biotics right now...extended dose so it would be taken care of. And yeah, I have a yeast infection in my mouth (EWW). I'm on Advair, inhalent, and well...I forget to rinse after I use it, and well...yeah...yeast infection in mouth. Dr said to gargle with Listerine and saltwater a few times a day and it'll clear up. Yogurt would help, but I don't eat that.
ANYWAY...could it just be dry skin or something? Please say it'll go away on it's own!

-Renee

I not sure, but I think it might be from the antibotics you are on. It also may be a urinary tract infection.

I sort of rember in the past, I would get a similar thing in the past. I would buy vagisel or something so you stop itching and maybe after a few days it will get better. Thats what I did in the past.

I hate to tell you this but it is a yeast infection.
Most likely caused by the antibiotic your taking!!

Any time you get a RX for an antibiotic tell the DR to write one for Diflucan. It takes care of the yeast before it starts.
If I have a ten day run of AB I ask for at least 2 Diflucan's.
Take them 5 days apart.
Be warned though...It is spendy.

Or you can treat it with over the counter meds.(monistat etc)

Yeast isn't always cottage cheezey and not everyone itches.

I'm sorry your so miserable!

Oh man...bah.
I'm allergic to the over-the-counter creams/treatments for yeast infections. Had to learn that the very hard way. You think a yeast infection is bad, try yeast infection with burning hives and swelling like crazy!
So I don't have my health insurance, so I can't get the Diflucan which I was thinking i might need. Wonder if it works for oral infections, too?
Maybe I can ask my mom to call her ob/gyn to get a script for it. She just went cuz she's post-menopause but still gets some heavy random bleeds and her Dr. would just assume she's bleeding so she can't do the OTC treatments. HHMMMM....Maybe I'll have to try that!

I just finished my last pill of anti-biotic....for this bottle..have to go refill it and do another 10 day course. Ugh..and Bactrim pills are big and chalky and don't go down w/out a fight! LOL...
Guess I need to have a talk with my mom....I'll just tell her it's for my oral infection, she knows I have that and she knows I cant go near yogurt right now.

TY for the replies and getting me out of denial. I knew it had to be a yeast infection...just...didn't want to admit it

If mom can get it for you then go for it!!

Good Luck

Call your pharmacy and ask them how much it would cost you.
Then call your dr's office that gave you the antibiotics.
Ask them if they have any on hand(samples) because you are broke.

You might be surprized!!

Well, I called my mom, told her that the infection in my mouth is worse, and I'm seeing sign of "thing below" getting funky. After she stopped laughing at me, she went to call the Dr. who gave me the anti-biotics, not before warning me that nobody gives out meds without seeing the problem. I laughed. The Dr. is a allergy doctor. He is not going to want me to come in to show him my vaginal problems, I think he'll take my word on it that the anti-biotics are causing one
So she called him and agreed to write a script for Diflucan for my mom so insurance will cover it. I thought my mom would just call her own doctor and ask for it, but she's having a cervical/uterian biopsy this week and I dont think they'd give her anything until that is done w/out seeing her first.
SO...yeah, got a script for Diflucan and I'll be picking it up later today.

The only thing that worries me is if I have the nasty side effects to the creams, does that mean I'll have one to the pill, or even a worse one? I hope not...the Dr. would kill me if I ended up having a allergic reaction to it!
