My Mood: Points: 2,323.22 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,323.22 | IUI 18 hours after trigger shot? Hello all - brand new to this site, and have a question about the timing of our IUI. My DD was conceived after our very first cycle on clomid/IUI (50 mg clomid and no trigger -- I had no idea at the time how lucky we were!). We're trying for #2, and this is our second cycle, and my first on Follistim (100 mg). My question is this -- did anyone else's doc do their IUI 18-20 hours post trigger shot? I've been doing research and it seems most docs do the IUI 36 hours post trigger. Now I'm a little concerned. I'm only a week post-trigger shot right now, so obviously it's too soon to tell if it worked, but I just have a feeling that I'm not preggo. I've put a call into my doc's office, but call hasn't been returned yet and I'm just wondering what everyone else has experienced, or if anyone else had their IUI's so soon after the trigger. Thanks! |

My Mood: Points: 3,354.80 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,354.80 | Mine recommended about 30 hours before the IUI--so I woke up at 3 in the morning to give my shot!! I'm not sure if there's any one answer that everyone follows--seems like there's great variability from RE to RE! Good luck!

My Mood: Points: 8,349.79 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 8,349.79 | I just had my IUI a couple days ago and it was about 20 hours after my trigger. I have read that some doctors like to do it that way so that the sperm are waiting for the egg to release so you don't miss it. The sperm can live in your fallopian tubes longer than the egg can so they can afford to be there early.
