I don't mind - once you have enough posts, feel free to pm me if you'd like any further info on it.

The first one was not so positive - I tend to find paps and other "procedures" like that, VERY uncomfortable - I cried like a baby at both hysterosalpingograms I've had, for example. But it has absolutely nothing to do with my weight; just the way I'm built down there, whether fat or thin.

Anyway, this first IUI was done by our first RE, who was a total jerk - he wasn't even trying to be gentle, and yelled at me when I groaned in pain. I don't think it was difficult for him - just painful for me. I did get pregnant with twins, so I can't complain overall, I suppose.

This second one was at a different office in a different state, done by a nurse. I told her ahead of time about my pain problem, and she was just very careful, and it didn't hurt at all!

I'm just puzzled that weight is an issue for having the procedure done. For certain fertility drugs working, yes. But for sticking a tube in your cervix?? I just don't get your doctor's thinking. I have NEVER heard of anything like this, and there are lots of very very very large women who get various pelvic procedures done. I think you should at least call another office and just ask about it.

Of course, there is no denying that it IS better to have a lower weight if possible when pregnant - it's awful hard on your body to start so big then add the weight of a baby, plus it does increase the risk of late complications. We want one more baby after this one and I am really going to try to drop some pounds first. So keep up the weight loss efforts while you get things figured out with this! Good luck!
