we're having jackets too i wash them, stab them all over. Then cook them for about a hour - i put a tiny bit of evoo (extra virgin olive oil ) on them, but keep eye on them, they may take a little bit less/or a bit longer. I cook them on gas 9

I used to cook them for about an hour, also. I think sweet potatoes take a bit longer.

So basically it's just a traditional baked potato?

I enjoy mine loaded with butter, cheese, and sour cream. You know, all the things that cancel out any nutritional quality of a baked potato. Ha!

I love Last of the Summer Wine and Keeping Up Appearances. Faulty Towers is great too!

I want to get KUP on DVD. I have Faulty on DVD and some of the As Time Goes By DVDs. I liked the early 2000s Last of the Summer Wine, but the 70s and 80s reruns I didn't like as much.

Oooh I saw KUP on DVD a few months ago. I wanted to get it but money was a bit tight at the time.

My grandfather and I used to watch the British comedies when I was a little girl, so whenever one is on I have to watch it. I have a lot of good memories from that.

Did you see the dvd swap site on the money thread? They have Britcoms. I'm going to finish out my As time Goes by collection that way It's going to be much cheaper than buyiing them off ebay even.

Eva - i didnt make them last night as dh has the flu but i have a sneaky feeling im going to pop one in the oven today for myself - im supossed to be low carbing but just not really got into it this week so i might enjoy the jacket potatoes and start afresh on monday. im wondering what i could put on them, something yummy ive got sour cream i could try that with something

Dh has only fools and horses dvds, they are his favorate, i was looking for keeping up appearances but i was hoping for a special offer (im in the uk) but my favorate comedy is friends

I loved baked, er jacket potatoes with a little smart balance butter, no fat sour cream and a little salsa. I put my oven on about 400 degrees and bake for an hour. Sweet potates slightly longer. Baked potatoes are also great with leftover chili on them too!

I have heard of that, but hadn't seen it. I think it used to come on BBCAmerica, but they took it and KUP and all the other good ones off. I wish they would put the old ones back on at least on weekends. I'm going to have to see if I can get it on Netflix Thanks
