Default Januvia?

Has anyone had any experience with this drug? My doctor recently told me I have type II diabetes, but I don't know what my blood glucose is. I can't take Metformin, it makes me feel crappy and tired out in the middle of the day. I've read some pretty discouraging things on diabetes boards about Januvia, does anyone with PCOS have any experiences with it?

I started working out a month ago, and I've been really careful about not eating a lot of carbs. I'm really hoping to be able to control this with diet and exercise.

My husband who is a TYPE 1 diabetic took this medication for about 3 months inconjuction with his daily insulin shots. It works similar to metformin in allowing your body to synthesize your natural insulin better. For my husband he got off of it because it didn't do anything for his diabetes and it is expensive. They do make Janumet which is a combo of metformin/januvia

I was taking it with Avanda and metformin..it didn't do anything for me. Taking 3 was very expensive. Avandia made me gain weight. I did figure out with met..as long as I ate decent it didn't bother me. My new doc took me off the Januvia first... then after 6 months on Avandia and with the 20lbs gain she put me on Byetta. I have been on it for 2 weeks and feel so much better. I take it along with the metformin. I have no issues with it either.
