Default Jon & Kate + 8

I don't know if anyone watches this show Jon and Kate + 8. It's where from fertility treatments they had a set of twins, and then a set of sextuplets! I love love this show. Turns out Kate has PCOS!!! It's a new episode tonight and I didn't watch it personally, but my mom yelled down to tell me the news! I was just shocked. She is a thin cyster too so that is great that it shows that it doesn't matter if you are thin or not! I just was surprised. I don't know if she had mentioned it in earlier episodes of the show, but I have watched almost all of them and I don't think she did, so yea! PCOS mentioned again, I can only hope it wasn't a brief oh I have PCOS. If I find out more I will edit later! <3

She does have PCOS but I have to wonder if she was seeing a RE or a regular ob/gyn. I couldn't imagine a RE letting someone trigger or baby dance with 6+ mature follicles. Also with her background as a nurse, I am a little surprised that she chose to bd or trigger with that many follicles. She has never gone into detail about the treatment she received to conceive...

I have always wondered if that was the cause of the infertility. I live a few hours away from where they are so when she had the sextuplets it was all over the local papers.

I was floored when she mentioned PCOS tonight! I don't know why, but for some reason I was. I absolutely love the show & I think their kids are SO freaking cute!

I know they catch a lot of crap for the way they talk to each other but you know...it doesn't seem like it's to the point of being unhealthy. It's just how they are with each other & it works for them and that's all that matters! I think they do a great job.

This is their website. It tells all about her infertility and treatment. She did IUI! Amazing. I LOVE this show. I have seen probably all the episodes. I love the whole family. What an inspiration!

I didn't see where it said IUI nor did I see if she did injections. It the "our story" it just mentioned the # of follies. I also wonder if the dr recommended to cancel the cycle.....

I am assuming this is what she did with both pregnancies since nothing else is mentioned. I also think I remember hearing her say in an interview once that they did IUI for both...

I would say that she probably did IUI again. I would also speculate that she had to have done inj. My RE only tries to get 1-2 follies. When I had multiples (none that were truly mature) they cancelled the cycle and said no BDing for 2 weeks. She mentioned she was hospitalized for overstimulation so I would speculate she had quite a few follies in the "in between" stage. I still have follies a month after overstimulating!
