    Taken from the website:

    http://www.sixgosselins.com/Our_Story.html

"I was told I had 3 with a possibility of 4 follicles, and that was a great cycle! The only thing that made our doctor nervous was the fact that we were absolutely opposed to reduction and that we were concerned about multiples again. We prayed about this and just like our peace about returning in October f or this, we felt peace about proceeding. So we did! Five weeks later, (after my hospitalization for over stimulated ovaries) we were at our initial ultrasound and learned the news. I will never forget this day as long as I live. There were seven sacs with four yolk sacs, or babies in four of them."

They mentioned the IUI in an episode they did when they answered email questions from viewers. I knew she had PCOS from this site. I want to say she mentioned it on Oprah? Anyway, I'm glad she said it on their show, as well.

From someone who is herself a tad bit OCD like Kate, and is also married to a man who is just as laid back as Jon - I can tell you that even though the communication style isn't perfect and seems like you're arguing and being mean it's what works for that type of pairing. My husband and I both watch and laugh, because that's exactly how we are (and can only imagine having 8 kids on top of that!).
I can relate to Kate's giving him specific directives because there are men out there who hear what they want to hear, and for guys like Jon and Aaron (my husband) - You can say "Will you please get a washcloth for me and run it under cold water so I can apply it to my child's fevered head?" And they hear "washcloth". You inevitably get 1/2 of what you asked for, and it can get very frustrating! Just like being given specific orders like you're an idiot can surely get frustrating for the husband, despite arguments that lead to the man saying "Well you need to tell me exactly what you want me to do!"
It works for some people, and it definitely doesn't for others.

Uh, yeah. My dad's like that (I've been hearing about it since I was small; my mother has specific directions for *everything*, from making coffee to hanging toilet paper and everything in between)- that doesn't take away that she seemed really snotty about it. *shrug* To each his own. I don't watch.

Has anyone heard for sure what meds she was on? I'm definitely guessing injectibles due to the overstimulated ovaries, but just wondered if there was confirmation. I tried to google and only found people arguing about whether they should have sextuplets or not. People just don't understand what IF is like. It's definitely not a perfect science!

Psupachic, DH and I are a lot like that too. I can yell down the stairs "Bring me a plastic bag, please." 5 minutes later he'll yell up "What was I supposed to bring?" He can't use calendars. I don't have to give him specific directions, but I definitely have to make him lists and tell him what is on the agenda for the week and stuff. He has his strengths and I have mine. And they are very different, but they compliment each other well.

I think when they first did the specials before they did the show, she revealed she had PCOS, so it's been out there for quite awhile.

I love this show and caught when she said she had PCOS the other night. DH was watching with me and got freaked out when I said sextuplets may be a possibility with fertility treatment. LOL.

i'm so glad that she let people know it was pcos - i had been waiting for that.

as for the way they talk to each other - i don't think they have time for the niceties. it'd take way too long and by then half of the kids would be running down the street and getting into all kinds of danger. they have to bark at each other. you can tell they have a lot of love for each other.

It interesting people critizing John and Kate (well, probably mostly Kate) but really who are we to judge unless we have twins and sextuplets... you would have to be in here situation to judge. Also if you video recorded yourselves and didn't edit much, you would probably be surprised how we all come across. I think she is a very high strung person, and having 8 kids she knows what runs the smoothest and what works. I support her 150%.. I think she's amazing.

John is more laid back, someone has to be organized, structured, etc. when you have 10 people in the family. I think their relationship is pretty darn good considering. It can't be easy to have 8 kids and THAT fast!

Anyway, back to the reason of your post.. yeah it's interesting to know that she has PCOS. It was kind of a quick mention, she didn't talk about it much. It was basically the intro to how she got pregnant and the stuggles of it. She seems to eat Low GI, and PCOS friendly now. But other than that I have no idea what she does to control her PCOS now.

Doing Low GI diet as of Sept. 07. DX with PCOS in Sept 07' as well.

    Started at a size 24, now a size 14. My waist was 44", now it's 32".

I am on no medication, just diet and exercise.

Thank you all for your support and information! I encourage all of you to do a Low Glycemic diet!

I do love the show. I didn't know she had PCOS. I think Kate is a very good mother considering she's got 8 kids!!! I can't even imagine having 8 kids especially twins and sextuplets. I think she does a great job considering the chaos that goes on in that house. LOL

I love this show! I've even kind of tricked DBF into watching it with me one night, and he didn't complain. Now when we sit down together to watch tv, if he sees that its on, he'll put it on and watch it with me. They are both great parents, and the kids are so adorable.

I have only heard her talk about PCOS once, and it was only something like "I have PCOS". Was there any other talk about it?

i can't stand this show (i have no doubt that it is a stressful situation. but half the time they act like they can't stand each other Jon & Kate) - but she did clomid & IUI... this was stated in the documentary on them right after the babies were born...

i've been scared of clomid ever since, which is probably why my body has an aversion to it!
