Lotus, are you on a specific program of drinking fruit and vegetable juice for health benifits?
I like fruit juice and fruit juice mixed with vegetable juice. So far, I haven't been doing it as a health measure, though. It's more because there are certain veggies I can only stand to eat if they're mixed with copious amounts of fruit juice, lol.
I juice to cleanse my liver and I really notice a difference in how well I feel if I'm doing it (or not). My usual concoction is 1x apple (usually green), 10cm of celery, 1/2 beet (or 1 small), 2x carrots, knob of ginger, 1/2 lemon, green leaves (either parsley, spinach or dandelion, whichever I happen to have at the time). I rotate a bit depending on what's in season but that's what I mainly use. Sometimes I'll put a few florets of brocolli in there also. I just have a panasonic juicer - nothing flash, but it does the trick.

I don't have a juicer, but I live near a "Robeks". They have smoothies, juices, low fat sherbert with real fruit made while you wait. I was ADDICTED to the apple juice, Carrot Juice , and Ginger. Ginger and Carrots have great benefits. Ginger really helps not only the immune system, but it also is known to help reproductive issues. I had a 16oz everday before work. When I quite my job a couple of months ago, I gained the 15lbs I lost, had almost clinical depression, my diabetes that was under control has sky-rocketed to spite I take 35 units of long lasting insuling 2 X a day. My body is ALL out of whack! While I am under stress, something is definately up. I'm attributing it to the fact that I haven't had this drink in awhile because we had to cut costs. As soon as I get a new job, I'll be buying my own juicer to do this. I also have a friend who juiced during chemo, etc. and she's cancer free due to carrot juice and I want to say she put oil of oregano together...it burned, but you couldn't really taste it too much with the carrots. She ended up turning orange.lol

I want to try juicing, but don't want to buy a juicer in the stores. I'm looking for a 2nd hand juicer in my area ... no luck so far, but I'll keep looking. It's Garage Sale season
Don't forget about the tag sales too...YOu can find almost anything and if you go late Saturday or wait until Sunday you can get almost half off. Basically similar to yardsales except their estate sales.....sad, but sometimes their marriage split ups and their splitting the estates...others are from deaths. I have a ton of nice things from that stuff and you can find great antiques too!

I have been considering buying a juicer too! I'm allergic to milk and skip breakfast a lot so I thought having a healthy juice w/veggies in the am would be a good habit to get into to get my day going.

Magdalena Grace was due on September 3, 2009 but arrived early on June 25, 2009 at just 30 weeks. She was 2 lbs 10 oz at birth, but as of today (7/17) she is 3 lbs 9 oz and doing exceptionally well.
