Arrow putting a weight loss timeline in your signature

I will type what you need to put in your signature line under "my info". The only difference is that I am going to use {} to surround commands, you will use [ ]. Also, I will put a color in there for an example but you can change your colors to whatever you want. Start with the most weight you want to lose in the next six months and go down from there. Example based on 25lbs to lose:

{b} {color=red} 25****20****15****10****5****GOAL! {/color} {/b}

When you lose say, 3 lbs and want to put your different color asterisk there, it would look like this:

{b} {color=red} 25**{/color} {color=blue}*{/color} {color=red}*20****15****10****5****GOAL! {/color} {/b}

don't forget to change your brackets to [ ]. It's not as hard as it may look. All you are doing is telling the program when to turn a color on an off.

Now, for the graphic.....

{b} {color=red} 25**{img}url{/img}*20****15****10****5****GOAL! {/color} {/b}

You don't change colors because the image from the url will be your exclamation point, smiley or whatever....

If you want to do 1/2 lb increments, all I did was alternate an asterisk with a dash *-*-*- You could use whatever symbol combo you want.

Holler if you need more help!

Here are some graphics for you to use:

purple exclamation point

yellow exclamation point

red checkmark

smiley

Karen, How do I link to this sticky? I know there are html instructions, but I don't know what they are.

For instance, I want to say something like "SC Weight Loss Challenge and Fundraiser. " I want it to be a clickable link that brings them to this thread.

>>>
{url= whatever the url is}YOUR TEXT{/url}

change your brackets to [ ] instead of what i'm using

Edited to add links to goal sheet and weight trackers:

Goal Sheets:

18 kilogram goal

Pounds:

The sheets are designed where you can get some smiley stickers/round stickers, highlighter, marker, etc. to mark off each lb or kg. I wanted to be more creative, but this was as good as it got. LOL.

This is every weight goal listed thus far. If your goal is not listed above, please PM me with the number of pounds or kilograms you wish to lose. Also, if you will be measuring in something other than pounds or kilograms, please PM me and I'll get with you to design a weight tracker for you.

For the "How to Calculate" tab, I'm lost. I see in the instructions that it says I'm supposed to decide how much I want to lose. Is this per day? per week? Please give an example.

I truly appreciate your doing this spreadsheet. Just need a little help. Thanks.

I was a little confused too . . .

But what I did was calculate how much I wanted to lose per week for the month of Jan. (2 lbs a week X 4 weeks = 8 lbs).

Then I divide 8 lbs by 31 days and got 0.258 lbs a day which is closest to the 0.3 lbs day on the How to calculate tab.

So I copied the entire section for 0.3 lbs/day and pasted it in "GOAL WEIGHT TO LOSE" Column under the January tab.'

That gives you each day's 'goal weight' in the goal weight column.

Then I put my weight info under the second column of the two columns that read "Today's Weight" since I haven't lost any.

It's a REALLY nice spreadsheet once you have your info taken care of. Showing you where you 'should' be from day to day.

HTH

OMGosh, that IS an awesome ss. Thank you Snowbunny for figuring that out for me. Once I plugged it in, it populated all the cells and I can see all the work she's done. THANKS SO MUCH flo0ow. A GREAT deal of work was put into this spreadsheet.

The only ? I have is the red 183 at the bottom on the red column for loss. It's not a calculation. Can I just delete that?

Default hmmm... im gonna try...

ok there is a tab at the bottom that says "how to calculate" well its kinda like a chart... the 1st column has the # of days in a month... I set it at 30 because i wasnt going to be following the diet on the weekends... just on weekdays... so for the 31 day just add the amount that is the 1st # so like in space b32 it would say 46.5 if you wanted to lose 46.5 pounds by the 31st day of jan... as for the explanation... say there are 29 (which there are) days in feb... and you want to lose 15 pounds by the 29th day of feb... then you go to the 29th day line and keep going right until you get to 15 or close to it... and then that column will be for the monthly goals... which would come out to be 0.5 pounds a day for 29 days... ok the reason why the formula isnt always 0.5+0.5+0.5 and so on and so forth is because... well to tell you the truth i dont know that was just the formula i was given when i was at the diet institute to calculate weight loss... so thats why some days have more of a loss than others... so another example is in June there are 27 days and you have 7 pounds left to lose... so you go to 27 days and then keep going right until you get to 7 or 7+ so I got to 8.3 which makes the daily loss of 0.3... another thing is i am working on a kg chart so if you are looking for it give me a couple more days maybe 1... i think... but it will be similar... but i just thought about something... lol... You can use the same chart for kg... just make sure that you put your begining weight in kg as well... and you can also follow the 0.1 pounds... but instead of thinking its pounds use it as kg... 1 pound is 0.454 kg... so about a half a kg... if anyone wants the #s for weight loss to go higher please pm me and i will make the chart go higher... thanx e1... i appreciate the compliments... if you have any other questions just ask... and again always put the weight loss goals in negative ( - ) numbers... because otherwise it wont work!!! Default yes...

yes you can i just put it in there for myself so that i could test the formulas... when your at the bottom and you put your last weight in there it will automatically jump to the next tab and put it in the begining weight... but there is a line all the way at the bottom that has the same # just done delete that... when you delete whatever is on the last days weigh in it will delete itself but it is a formula that will auto calc when you put in the data for the last days weigh in... JUST DONT DELETE IT!!! lol... if anyone messes up somewhere... if you want you can email me the file and i will fix it for u... florencebanin@comcast.net

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who are helping to get this organized for us.

I have visions of submitting our soulycyster weight loss challenge successes to the Oprah show when the challenge is over. Oprah seems to like group weight loss stories, and what a great way for us cysters to finally get some "Oprah-quality" national exposure

Also, after everyone weighs in, I will input the info into a spreadsheet, and I will keep an on-going tally. I will have a post in this thread that I will go back and edit each week updating everybody's total progress.

Nobimbo - I told DH wouldn't that be funny if this resulted in some of us going on Oprah or Dr. Phil showing how we all pulled together to achieve our ultimate goal? DH just blew it off. Can't wait to prove him wrong.
