Smile Please add me...

Just join WW today. Current weight 250. I'm getting married in April so this has inspired me to get off my butt.
My goal right now is 10%. Which would bring me to 225.
But overall would love to get under 200.
I going to do flex which has work for me before. But reading some of your post I might want to consider core. Need to find more about it.
Hope everyone has a great week!
Thanks for the support!
Yani

Welcome Melpat, CLARKIE, and FLALATINA! Ask all the questions you want, these gals are great!

And to let the newbies know, I'm terribly inconsistent at updating the spreadsheet, but if you have new stats, please post them in LARGE BOLD RED FONT,
so I don't miss it. It doesn't have to be that large, but the red definitely helps.

I can't get enough grapes today. At least it's grapes and not chocolate...

Hi all - This is day two for me!

My Monday weigh was 212lbs
Initial goal - 10% (21lbs) - 191lbs
Final goal - 152lbs (loss of 60lbs)

I'm doing flex for now because keeping track of points makes me really think about what I'm putting in my mouth. I'm also making sure that the foods I eat are low-glycemic ones to help with the whole PCOS/weight loss issue. I'm feeling very positive about this and hope the feeling continues.

I do have a question though. If I don't eat all my points in a day, what do I do? Should I try to make sure I get close? Do I carry them over to the next day?

You can't carry them over. Do your best to eat all your points. For example, substitute fruit for veggies, low-fat dairy for fat-free, etc. You can eat all your points and do so healthfully.

AFM: I have had a horrible week! I have literally had ice cream with magic shell four days in a row. And in the last week, have had cake three times. I don't know what's wrong with me! Luckily, perhaps, all the sweets are not reacting nicely with my Metformin, so I'm having a painful and embarassing consequence for my behavior. I'll see what the scale says on Thursday!

Thank you Samantha.

I'd like to run through my menu today so far to see if anyone has suggestions. I'm finding that yesterday and today I tend to hoard my points until later in the day and I don't think that's the best way to go about it.

Breakfast:
1 cup (cooked) Steel cut oatmeal with 1/2 banana smooshed in for sweetness

Morning Snack:
1.5 cups watermelon, 1 cup FF popcorn

Lunch:
Veggie soup that I made from a WW recipe (it says it's zero points)
Whole wheat english muffin toasted with 1tsp butter (real butter - I don't do the processed stuff)
WW latte ice cream bar thingy

Dinner:
I'm making a cashew chicken dish that is 8pts according to the recipe calculator and pairing it with brown rice.

I've drank 2L of water so far today and will probably drink at least one more. Between water and green tea, that's all I drink.

I'm also wearing my pedometer and trying to get 10k steps in today.

Any suggestions?

Mermaid Girl and Misty ~ Thanks for your support. I am trying to get back on track. I have done a little better with the exercise this week. It is our last week of school, actually today was our last day! On Tuesday, I took my assistants out to lunch as a thank you for all their hard work, and today I went to lunch with some of the other teachers as a final hurrah for the year. Today we went to Pizza Hut and of course the pizza wasn't very good for me, I had a huge salad first and that filled me up so I didn't eat as much pizza. I still have 27 flex points left and I am already half way through the week. My sister is getting her Master's degree on Saturday and we are going to go out to dinner, but hopefully I will do okay until then!

Mellie ~ I don't know what the point values for your meals are, but they look could to me. I also tend to hoard my points until the end of the day, and sometimes it comes back to haunt me. I find that if I don't though, that I usually go over my points because I am very bad about pre-planning dinner.

Mellie - I'd love to get your recipe for the cashew chicken, sounds yummy! If I were low on points for the day, healthy options I usually have around are lowfat yogurt, almonds or pistachios, whole grain pretzels, peanut butter on just about anything and smooth churned ice cream. Okay, maybe ice cream isn't the healthiest of options, but I figure, if I have the points, a nice treat is in order.

Jilconmom - SNAP OUT OF IT (In Cher's voice from Moonstruck)!!!!! I'm glad I don't know what magic shell is.... that could be dangerous for me. Can you get a sugar free ice cream, or a low fat ice cream (see above..)

DH is getting the propane tank filled today for our grill. All I feel like these days are grilled veggies and fish.

VT: Generally, I do, but DH bought *two* half gallons of ice cream for he and the kids to make sundaes on Saturday night when I went out with BFF. Now I have all that horrible full-fat ice cream sitting in my freezer. And I probably would have been okay if not for the magic shell.

Anyway, I'm over it now, as I forced myself to record my points and realized I ate 50, count them, 50 points yesterday! I can not allow myself to gain weight back, so I'm stopping now.

That a girl!!! Hey - you can always throw out the bad ice cream, and replace it with one "good" half gallon for everyone to share.... I've been known to do that with tempting things on more than one occasion. You've worked too hard!

I just weighed in. My new stats:

209.8/198.2/190/140

I lost .2 this week. I just have to say thank you to my new WiiFit. I think it saved me.

Mellie-Your food looks good, and like other said, you can't carry over points, so try to eat them all. If you don't eat enough you can stall your weight loss. I try to stick within my points during the week and then use my flex on the weekends. Sometimes I need a few flex points during the week though.

Anyone hear of/ do the Wendy plan?????

Hi Everyone! Can I join ya'll? I finally joined WW on April 12 of this year. So far, I have lost a total of 14.6 lbs.

I was doing really well for the first 7 weeks, then, over Memorial day weekend, I really screwed up, and that next weigh-in was up 1.4... this past weekend, I removed 2.2 (so, what I had gained plus some more). But, this week, I am back to making poor choices... I had a huge B-day party for myself over the weekend (turned the big 3-0!)... so the extra food and beverages were around the place calling my name... Plus, my boyfriend loves to eat... and I get sucked into doing the same....he loves his desserts and snacks...

Anyway, I am hoping to get some support to encourage me to stick to the program. Seriously, In order to be in the healthy weight range, I need lose between 10 to 41 more pounds (from high end to low end), which would make me lifetime! Why can't I buckle down and do it? I have been around this weight for years (I gained about 13lbs between Jan - April... that's when it got really bad and I was like "enough!").

Okay, I think I've rambled on enough... Thank you for reading and responding!

Hello ladies, can I join again?

I went off plan, holidays, depresion and came off metformin. Put the weight back on and a bit more, aargh. Endo now suggesting I have a gastric bypass which I would like to avoid desperately!

So this is my last ditch attempt at doing something major before going under the kife. Fingers crossed! Have a feeling I am going to need a great deal of support...

Have been on the points plan for nearly a week now, stats are:

Start 242 / Now 242 / Short term goal 212 (longterm goal 150)

Next week I start a slow release gluc so hoping this will help too. The thought of exercising fills me with dread so hope to introduce some walking and doing DVDs at home, maybe even aqua aerobics rather than getting sweaty and red in a gym - yuck.

Good luck to you all,
Charlotte x

Happy Flag Day!

I swear everytime I weigh myself, my scale goes up at least a pound. I am hoping I am building muscle, because I shudder to think I am gaining 1 to 2 pounds a week. I have been doing more at my physical therapy and I have been working out some at home too. I know I need to eat better, but I don't think I have been eating bad enough to gain that much weight.

Angel ~ Welcome back! I usually do exercise DVD's at home. I also love water aerobics and I hope to start soon. I am waiting for an okay from my doctor since I had knee surgery. I never feel like I am sweating when I do water aerobics, but I know I am getting a good workout.

I weighed in this morning. I have gained another 2 pounds. I am determined to eat better this week. I already have tomorrow planned out. I am going to have a salad for lunch, 2 points w/dressing. For dinner, I am going to have grilled pork chops, water melon, and either stuffing or rice. I still have to decide what I am going to have for breakfast. Probably cereal depending on how much time I have in the morning.

I need some help. I need some healthy lunch ideas that require no cooking. I am going to have about 25-30 minutes for lunch and I will have to eat it with my summer school kids. I won't have time to even heat anything in the microwave so it all has to be something I can eat cold. I cannot eat salad for lunch every day for the next five weeks. Anybody have any ideas?
