Default just another appointment?!?

I get a call from Kaiser, it's a nurse saying that I need to reshedule my appointment. My response was "what, what appointment??" My GP arranged an appointment with another Doctor, and I had no idea. So I asked the nurse what it was all about and she said it was just going to be about my glucose levels..(?) So I resheduled and said OK.. I was dx with PCOS in June/July of this year and I was relieved to know what has been going on with my body, but at the same time scared of what comes with PCOS...I go to my Doc appt. and Come to find out it was a meeting to help me use my GLUCOSE MONITOR!?! huh!!WTF? From what I knew I was only IR and I was only taking Met to help with PCOS.. It was a shock for me to hear that I have Diabetes. So many things have been going on with me, getting used to meds, having my AF for the first time in a year and About 3 weeks ago I had a really bad anxiety attack/ depression for three days. From what I have gathered I see the relationship with PCOS, Depression and Diabetes.. I needed to vent, sorry it's so long... It just sux because I thought I was going to work at not developing diabetes! But now it is time to deal.
I am armed with what I need to do about my eating patterns/habits and exercising. One of my concerns is using the Ultra One-touch glucose monitor. How often do u have to monitor yourself.. per day and per week. I don't have any problems with the process I just need to know how often I need to check it.
I appreciate any advice that you have. Thanks in advance.
Love,
Ter
