She definitely thinks that I have PCOS. Her main concern (but not only concern) that I have not been having my periods (for like 6 months now). She wants to put me on BCP..something that starts with an M..cant remember the exact name right now...to start the periods.
I asked about spiro (she was impressed that I had been reading about the syndrome) and she said that I could try that also.
She didnt want me to start both of them at the same time, just so we would know which one was working. She told me to take the BCP first for a month and see if my periods start and other things (facial hair, thinning head hair, no sex drive, depression) would start to get better. If the periods do not come, she wants me to try the spiro.
I realllly wanted to go with the spiro first (she told me I would probably lose a lot of water weight gain..hey any loss I will take, water or otherwise).........will spiro potentially start my periods? If so, should I just try that first?
I was sooo nervous (havent had a pelvic in 12 years), but my doctor was great. I wish that I would have done this along time ago. But hopefully this is the start of a new life.
