Default Just been diagnosed

Ive just found out I have PCOS. Im really scared in case it means I can't have children. Ive been gaining weight over the last couple of years but just thought it was because I am eating more.

I also have facial hair and no period whatsoever. My dh is scared he wont be able to become a father.

Does anyone have any positive stories of PCOS?

Welcome!

Getting diagnosed is the first step, though its very scary!! I remember hearing the news that I had PCOS. I cried and cried and cried. That was only a few months ago, and recently I was blessed to find that I was able to get pregnant!! Have hope!!! What kind of treatment options is your doctor talking with for you? Many women with PCOS take Metformin, which helps greatly get everything under control. With me, it greatly curbed my appetite, I lost a few pounds, and I actually got a period!!!!!

This is a great site with lots of wonderful ladies here. Best of luck to you!!!!!

Welcome to SC. I was able to get pg w/no fertility drugs and w/o being on met. My cousin took clomid to conceive her dd. Every woman is different, but all women have better chances if they start treatment asap. If you are overweight, losing as little as 15lbs can greatly increase your chances of conceiving w/o drugs. Take care and good luck.

Just wanted to say hello and welcome. You may want to check out the ttc boards, i'm sure you'll find lots of info there on how many women with pcos were able to have kids. Best of luck to you!

Welcome to the site! Rest assured, you came to the right place, you will find MANY positive stories here. Good luck, I know where you are at. I deal with the facial hair and have had no period for 4 years. They had me take Provera to jump start it, and I am now waiting for AF to visit any day now.
